Dinner was good and excellent service but the food didn't meet our expectations in view of the price. We had precooked but had to book again when we arrived which wasnt a huge problem. Good varied menu. We didn't expect large portions but particularly the pureed vegetables and fruit were very thin, small tea spoon sized on the plate and definitely wouldn't contribute to your 5 a day. A whole tea spoon full next time please!! So when ordering bear in mind the wonderful sounding menu will be minituarised to barely more than a delicious flavour on the plate. Breakfast was a basic selection, no granola for example. Waiters weren't so attentive this time and we weren't offered more toast or coffee until we were about to leave. The waiter couldn't find our prebooking so breakfast wasn't as relaxed as we'd hoped as they evidently did then find it but didn't let us know until we asked at reception!

Room called Rialto was superb and perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Beautiful stately building and grounds and plenty of comfortable seating areas and large dining room. Within easy driving distance of Dedham Vale and Flatford. Food was good and served with care.

The staff were welcoming. The food was amazing and the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Easy parking. Beautiful grounds. Lovely tea selection. We really enjoyed ending our day with a board game and a hot chocolate. It made a wonderful base to explore the area. We could have easily stayed for a few more days.

The overpriced menus. The food was excellent, just not value for money. £34 for scallops without a side dish really isn't a dinner offering. The unexpected pea mash mixed with the avocado smash at breakfast - not a great start to the day.

Lovely venue, grounds, food etc. Breakfast options were fantastic except for the pea mash mixed with the avocado smash.

There was nothing to dislike at all

Location and standard of accommodation and outside areas were just superb. Beds so comfortable. Our room, Maypole, was beautiful and our meal in the restaurant was incredibly good. Thanks to the talented chefs. Special mention to all the staff who are a real credit to the hotel but a mention to Jade, whose recommendations and service in the restaurant was perfect. I’ve never eaten a dessert so slowly, not wanting it to end. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your hotel and only wish we were getting married as we couldn’t think of a more romantic location which when added to the service provided would be a special day indeed.

Probably the only time I will ever say this...NOTHING!!! Please keep everything a it is, you cant improve on perfection. When I win the lottery I'm moving in fulltime

Its is an exceptional hotel, a real hidden jewel in Suffolk. Made even better by the warm, friendly and attentive staff, but all that pales into significance when you encounter the fabulous cuisine

Room was a little chilly at night and the radiators didn't respond when we turned up the thermostat however we did not bring this to the attention of the staff as we could cope.

A lovely understated country house hotel, very relaxed with friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable, generously sized and well equipped. Hotel not trying to be trendy or hip just comfortable with itself.

The shower design was a little awkward, as you could easily knock the temperature controller, and the water pressure was a little weak for my liking, also not enough shelf space in the bathroom to keep your toiletries.

Lovely hotel, they were kind enough to give us a room upgrade, The room was very spacious with tea and coffee making facilities, a very big bed, a very spacious bathroom with walk in shower.

Our weekend at Hintlesham Hall was perfect. It's beautiful, the welcome and staff were exceptional from start to finish. We booked in for dinner too and are so glad we did because it was delicious and memorable in a room with wow factor. I can't recommend it enough.

The door to the reception desk could have been better signposted from the car park as the lettering over the reception door was not easily seen, especially in bright sunlight. Otherwise, great!

This is an old property that has been extensively modernised as an up-market hotel. Uneven floors, wobbly chairs and tables are therefore to be expected. It was a memorable short stay and to be fully recommended.

The Hotel is full of character and is steeped in history. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. There was ample parking on Site. The food was very nice with a good selection to choose from, however portions could do to be a little larger.
