Nothing, everything was perfect

Where do I start, very friendly hosts, lovely quiet location but still a short walk to the centre, bed very comfortable, shower lovely and powerful, room lovely and clean and the biscuits and bag of sweets a lovely touch. Breakfast was exceptional served in a pleasant room, all local ingredients. Managed to park outside and had a parking permit for the 2 days. Already planning to return next year

Breakfast was fantastic, Hosts were brilliant. The hotel was fantastically quirky with some brilliant art work. Location was great and you have parking on the street. All in all brilliant and i WILL be going back.

As the area has only on-street parking (parking pass provided by host), it is almost impossible to find parking if you are arriving late. Pay and display parking at the leisure centre (within 3 minutes walk) for additional cost available. Non of that is the host's fault.

Great location, 5 minutes walk from the centre, 20 minutes from Whitby Abbey. Excellent breakfast, super friendly host. Quirky decor and attention to detail.

The guest house is beautiful! The decor and aesthetic is incredible! We loved the whole Rockabilly, Goth, B-Movie themes through the house. Our room was wonderfully decorated, super comfortable and had all the creature comforts you coukd need. The owners were fantastic, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We were given a breakfast menu for our stay and breakfast was served exactly to our liking on both mornings. I cannot say enough good things about High Tor! We absolutely loved staying here and will definitely be back again!

Nothing what so ever

From the moment we arrived, John and Lisa made us feel very welcome. They are both great hosts. The guest house is absolutely fantastic. Loved the theme, and my daughter loved it. John upgraded our room, so we had a very spacious bedroom, the bed was huge. Nice sized bathroom with shower. Even had slippers to wear. Bottles of water, sweets, and biscuits left in our room all complimentary along with tea and coffee. Not far from the bars and shops, too. It was just perfect.

- Quiet neighbourhood & a short walk to the centre - Impeccably clean - Relaxing atmosphere (loved all the scents & decor!) - Nice variety of breakfast choices - Lots of complimentary items in the room, such as chocolates, biscuits, drinks & toiletries :) We had a lovely stay at High Tor! John & Lisa were so attentive, warm & welcoming. They really went out of their way for us, making my partner’s birthday extra special. Well equipped & comfortable room with a good selection of toiletries, teas & coffees etc. Some nice touches such as a box of biscuits along with a bag of sweets & chocolates. Very good breakfast menu which along with an excellent host made the whole experience a pleasure.

This place is fabulous and super clean, the hosts are fabulous and have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The decoration is outstanding with a real attention to detail The breakfast is lovley with good quality products from Yorkshire and pleanty of choice. The town is just a short stroll so its a perfect location We loved staying here its a real gem !

Everything was great. Cool vibe lots of music and film posters etc , stylish, chic decor, gorgeous comfy and immaculate room. Amazing, cooked to order breakfast. The hosts John & Lisa were so welcoming and full of good info. Parking permit provided. Loads of lovely extra touches - scented candles in the public areas, sweets and biscuits in our room. Good location too, nice and quiet but minutes away from everything.

We had a wonderful stay at High Tor. Friendly, super comfortable and loved the style! So much fun perusing the film and music posters. Breakfast was perfect and the location couldnt have been better for us. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Outstanding B &B Spotlessly clean & quirky. Very comfortable bed/room. Beautifully presented tasty Yorkshire breakfast. Owners couldn't have been nicer people. Went out of their way to make our stay for my Birthday extra special. Warm & very helpful people. We had a fabulous stay. & Would definitely recommend & revisit .
