The resteraunt showed on their website no longer existed . It was replaced by an Indian resteraunt . Disappointing as we don't eat Indian food . The room was small . The ceiling was bowed with a water leak . The shower cubicle leaked . We had to use our towels to mop up the floor .

There was a really bad smell in our room & wasn’t as clean as expected. The shower is more like an old telephone box - very small.

The bar area was very roomy. The bar manager was very welcoming.

Tv didn’t work, had no wifi at all which was a pain when having to talk to family. Looked at the menu online for a gander at the food in the restaurant. Said burgers and hunters chicken for us to go and it all be Indian food. I absolutely loved it however my parter who isnt a fan wasn’t impressed. there was barley no other option other than chicken and chips. The chicken was dry, chips were soggy. We was also told a 50% discount on mains as we were staying in one of the rooms. We added up everything for it to come up to around £23 ish (as we didnt get alot) without discount however when we it came down to pay the total was £31 with discount. Personally dont agree that it would have been more than 20 for what we actually got.

Bed was extremely comfy, had a very good sleep. Staff was so helpful and kind.

The strange smell in the bathroom, black sealant round part of the shower base, wallpaper starting to come off the wall. Being woken to loud music due to a power cut in the pub and it turning the music on when the power came back on. It's not the owners fault, but a good few hours of music playing made for a very grumpy me when came to check out.

Staff were lovely and the location was great, also the price was good. If you're staying for 1 night, it's a bargain. You also get a discount in the restaurant when staying in the rooms. I wasn't expecting an executive suite given the price we paid. The bed was comfy and sheets and room clean and that's all you need for a 1 night stay.if the decor and bathroom were given an overhaul then it would be a lot more inviting, all in all I would return for another 1 night stay.

Gardens were extremely shabby and overgrown with clapped out furniture. Rooms were very run down and are in need of an update. Rooms weren’t the cleanest. Bathrooms are in poor repair. No breakfast available! Rooms were overpriced for what we got.

After I booked through booking dot.com I contacted HEWORTH Inn to ensure that breakfast was included, the dog was welcome and the evening meals had vegetarian options. When we arrived, the inn no longer does breakfasts or evening meals as the kitchen had been rented to a brand new Indian restaurant.Unfortunately two of our party do not like spice at all. I think we should have been informed of this change so we could have chosen a more suitable alternative. Xx

The bathroom had a bad odour of ammonia, when we reported it they went to check and said it smelt like cleaning products! They said to check when we get back and they could move us to another room, when we returned we were not asked about it and it looked like she was off duty, The smell didn’t ease at all

The location from the city. Room booked close to the Barbican for an event that got cancelled. We had to walk into the city which was about 10 mins. The room is ready for an upgrade but a new manager has been appointed and I am sure this is on his to do list

Shower was leaking freezing cold water from the base unit, tv signal was absolutely rubbish couldn't watch TV only had 5 channels but signal kept going so unable to watch them.

Had a leak through the ceiling one night. I had a double room and as there wasn’t another available I was given a single room in replacement as couldn’t stop in room, but was offered no compensation.

All rooms tv wasn't working. Neither was WiFi. Had to change rooms due to having no hot water had to boil kettle and awful smell coming from sinks when used in morning . Said deluxe rooms on advertisement just basic rooms I feel .e.g rooms not looked like what was advertised on booking.com . E.g. some light bulbs not working apart from one in one room and all tv and WiFi not working in any three rooms that was used during our stay

When I arrived I was told I didn't have a booking while I stuck to the pub carpet and then the landlady made me feel quite unwelcome it wasn't busy so I would have expected they would know I was coming? There are no lights in the car park and no sign to say go round the front so I tried to enter at the back and doors were locked. I wasn't told what to do in the morning when I left I came down to a dark entrance with noone there and let myself out..this isn't a problem but I would have liked to have known, I get the impression the pub has only recently been taken over so hope my feedback helps with improvements

This was a story of two halves the room was lovely and clean and had everything I needed, the food was really good and chatting to the chef I think he knows what he's talking about....however

The Heworth is a nice old pub with accommodation appropriate to the price. It’s not reasonable to expect the Hilton, so the Heworth ticks all the boxes for pub style accommodation. It’s a super easy stroll into town.

The beds were extremely comfortable, the bar downstairs is great and the food was absolutely beautiful. The staff were really welcoming. Not a single thing I could moan about as the rooms were excellent, great space and only about £5 in a taxi to York Centre.

The room didn’t have black out blinds which as a light sleeper meant I was up and awake by 6 but just meant we got maximum time out of our second day
