Steep steps to access our rooms but would not stop us returning. Beds a bit too soft.

Location was perfect. Loved our stay and would return but must stress about the steep steps to access the rooms. Only say this as it may be tricky if you are not very mobile. The steps are also quite shallow. We stayed in room 3 that had three double beds over two floors with a private bathroom. It worked well. Both rooms are fully equipped with tv, hospitality tray etc. mattresses are a little too soft so so be mindful! Dog friendly. Parking is off site but not too far away plus you can close to load/unload.

Possibly, the rooms were a little too warm, but the host couldn't control the outside weather. We just kept the windows open through the night.

Easy check-in. Didn't really see the staff other than this point, but they were polite when checking in. Communication by email beforehand was quick and informative. Rooms we're tidy, clean, and had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Great extras like decent quiality coffee and tea and a fresh jug of water on arrival. Rooms are a good standard, showers excellent, and bed comfortable exceptional.

There was a little confusion on arrival as we looked for the address of the cottage but we couldn't find it, however I rang the owners and was pointed to the restaurant next door to collect the keys. Unfortunately I got the email directions for the key after we'd arrived. I'd also overlooked that we didn't have an ensuite but we did have a private bathroom across the landing with our own key. The stairs up from the street are very steep so if you're not able bodied you'll need a hand to get upstairs. We were fine. Just an observation.

The location is fab, a few yards from the swing bridge in the harbour, the room was very comfortable as was the bed. Its town centre location so expect a little noise from outside but it didn't bother us. Would defo come back.

Advertised as having private bathroom, but didn't say that the bathroom was not within the room It was actually off the corridor outside of the room in close proximity to two other rooms, although it did have a sign to say that it was exclusively for our room

Unable to check in until an hour and a half after the given time, restaurant staff below did not know about the apartment

Unfortunately the bin in one of the rooms hadn't been emptied & although the towels provided had been laundered & were fresh, some of them had stains on. One of our rooms had a security light right outside the window, this same room was above the back of the restaurant that's below, so there was noise from that after it closed with them emptying glass & rubbish etc into the bins - was unable to sleep till the early hours.

Great location, there's a long stay car park nearby, fab shower, comfy beds, clean rooms, my daughter loved the attic room. Ideal base for our overnight stay.

I think the tv remote in another room may work this one as well as it would come on if it’s own accord.

Gorgeous room..great location..had difficulty finding parking spot but expected that on a Saturday in whitby..stairs to room are quite steep so anyone with mobility issues might struggle.. would definitely stay again..

We had room two which unfortunately wasnt en suite, it did have its own bathroom on the landing but did find this a little inconvenient during the night. Steep steps and very narrow treads up to the room

Toilet seat! TV stayed on 1 channel remotes from both rooms wouldn’t change a channel in any room. Empty Durex packet found behind bed ! Empty port bottle in bottom drawer.

No heating controls and it was cold. Very thin duvet in upper room, no extra blankets, had to sleep in my clothes. Lower room better. Smoke alarm went off twice for no reason. Tried to ring the number given on the wall that said it could be rung with any problem, any time, but the number was unavailable. Went to restaurant who had given us the key, they said the owner was abroad! They were as helpful as they could have been. A mini fridge would have been good.

Very clever conversion of a small space into two bedrooms with bathroom. Great shower. Fabulous location.
