Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything about Hazel's House was perfect. It was home from home. The living room was lovely and cosy and the fireplace in the evening was lovely, nice and homely feeling. The views from the garden were amazing so peaceful and tranquil in the morning, enjoyed the view with a nice cup of tea while everyone was asleep. Seeing the sunset from the garden was lovely, never quite as good down south. Facilities were exceptional, shower was powerful which was nice. The mattress was so comfortable, best few nights sleep I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back. Natasha was very helpful, any problems (not that there was any) you could be reassured that she wasn't far away

United KingdomThis is a great little house; clean and well equipped. Natasha gave us clear instructions on how to find the house, collect our keys and where to park. We enjoyed sitting in the garden in the evening with a glass of wine. The beds and bedding were really comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean.

United KingdomLack of off-road parking. Was aware of this, however, as description clearly states street parking.
Spotlessly clean, well equipped and with far reaching views from the front and back of the house. We particularly liked the thoughtful little extras such as tea, coffee and breakfast cereals. There were plenty of towels including a hand towel (as well as tea towels) in the kitchen. Natasha was very helpful when we contacted her with questions or requests and always responded promptly. A lot of thought has obviously gone into making this property comfortable for guests.

United KingdomOn road parking is not perfect, but it was easy to get a space very close and this was expected and known about up-front. We didn’t have a problem with this.
Very happy with everything, but thought the bed was particularly comfortable. I had a really good night.

United KingdomNothing to report
It was one of the most comfortable private accommodations we ever stayed in. All the details were thought through, and the owners made a lot of effort to ensure comfort and cleanliness. The best mattresses, pillows, towels and bedding! It was a very nice touch to leave the cupboards stocked with some essentials. It felt like a home from home. I read some previous reviews about the parking in front of the property. There are a couple of side roads with plenty of space, so I would not call it an issue. The outside space was very cosy with beautiful views over the hills and town.

United KingdomThe property was a little away from the centre, it was in walking distance but via a steep hill. Car parking was also not ideal, you can park outside the property but I did not like the fact that I was parked on a steep incline on a busy road.
The property was very clean and welcoming. The host thought of everything, hiding items in the cupboards that a guest may have forgotten to pack. The views from the back of the property are spectacular, these can be viewed from the seated area at the rear of the building. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows, I need to purchase a set.

CyprusThe front aspect was not very appealing, with strange shared access down several steps, which were not easy with heavy luggage.
The property was clean and well decorated, and the host very communicative. Lots of food in the cupboards which was unexpected, and went above and beyond. The outside seating at the back was nice, with lovely views. Comfortable beds.

Hazel's House is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with an attractive outdoor space and stunning views. Natasha is a lovely, caring host who was very happy to accommodate my request for a hollow fibre quilt and pillows, due to my allergies. During a phone call and in our exchange of correspondence, she was warm, thoughtful and an absolute pleasure to interact with. My friends and I are delighted that we stayed at Hazel's House and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in the area.

United KingdomI was disappointed that the bath was not available. I had chosen the house as it had a bath and I was teaching a very physical course and wanted a soak in the evening. I understand why is was not available but it would have been good to know in advance.
Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The we house was so cute and comfortable. It had everything I needed to cook for myself. It was quiet and had very usable outside space.
