Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Comfy bed and cosy room, very clean & welcoming reception and room. Fridge was useful. TV & kettle/drinks all good order. Requested extra towels and were provided no problem. Very close to Edgware rd tube so great access for sightseeing.

United KingdomThe hotel was quite dated, very sparse and not very welcoming (no pictures on the walls in the room, carpets on the stairs worn, curtains in the room sun damaged, furniture in the room damaged with scrapes and burns to the tops, dusty artificial plant in room, television connection in room poor, needed to fiddle with the lamp to get it to work)
The staff were helpful, 24 hour Reception, bed linen clean, small fridge in the room, hairdryer available on request

This was an excellent budget hotel, I liked that I could pay on the day as it helped spread the cost of the trip. There isn't anything fancy about this hotel but I enjoyed my stay, slept well, and would go again.

JapanThe shower head in the bathroom was fixed on the wall and water pressure was too weak. I wish it was so that I can hold.
I had a heavy suitcase, so I chose this hotel as it has a lift. The room was very cozy. I liked the quilted bed and pillow cover. Though I visited the hotel to ask them to keep my luggage before the check-in time, the staff let me into the room as it was already ready.

BelgiumThe wifi was practically non-existent, which was very disappointing. Couldn't use it for the two days I stayed. The room was on the small side, had very little storage space for clothes, so I would not recommend it for a longer stay. You can see that the hotel has not been renovated in quite some time.
I liked the location. The room and bathroom were clean and cleaned daily. The staff was nice and welcoming.
