bar, coffee lounge and restaurant very limited. With so many excellent catering outlets on the doorstep it is understandable. Breakfast was "adequate" but the staff were not very attentive. My vegan diet was supported but options were limited.

pillows weren't ideal, too small and firm. not enough power sockets, one would have been good next to the large mirror and also one higher up for the kettle.

bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was of a high standard and towels were thick and fluffy.

Needed a charging cable and was told to go to the shop across the road.. which was shut. Knowing the area is imperative for any hotel staff in a 5 star hotel so just need to be mindful you're not sending your guests out at midnight in the city centre on a Friday night to closed establishments. (Fyi the nearest 24/7 with phone accessories is on Dale St opposite tescos). I paid last minute for a double on the first floor. The price was the same for a room I bought in advance 2 years prior. This room was facing the corner of Matthew St and was quiet loud until the early hours. I'd have preferred to pay the extra and be higher up had I known I'd be in a room that was right next to the street noise so maybe this should be advertised somewhere?

The steamless mirror is lovely, but it's way too high to use. The plug for razors and electric toothbrush needs to be relocated too. I'd hung up all our towels and housekeeping still replaced all of them when they say to hang them if you DO NOT want them replaced. Bath robes would be nice!

Great view from the balcony of Liverpool and a really spacious room on my wife’s birthday a lovely card and a small box of chocolates left in the room a really nice touch.

Great location. If you’re a Beatles fan, it’s a great place to be. Very clean and wonderful accommodations. Central to everything.

A few little gripes about our accommodation - we were in room 514 - the lighting in the bathroom was poor, just not bright enough. There was no grab rail when climbing into the bath in order to have a shower. Grab rails on the bath were too low when standing to shower. Would have preferred a shower only. There were patches of grout missing between some of the bathroom tiles. The toilet roll holder was loose and did not stay steady. The exterior windows were dirty. It would have been nice to have a wall mirror in front of the dressing table as well as the full length one near the door.

The location was fabulous! Easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel was full of character and there was so much to look at with all the paintings, photos, art pieces etc. it met the expectations of our trip perfectly.

Place could do with a bit of a refurbished as rooms and bar area are starting to look a little tired.

We were given a free upgrade as we have stayed here many times before. We had a balcony which we made good use of in our stay.

Breakfast was disappointing. The dining room was very busy due to coach parties I assume. The staff had difficulty keeping up with replenishing supplies as well as clearing and cleaning tables. The serve yourself bar is too cramped for the volume of guests. Queuing for the beverage dispencer disrupted getting cooked food. I would stay again but wouldn't have breakfast.

Location was fantastic for shopping, docks and museums as well as been walking distance to Lime Street station

Although the location is very central and good walking distance to main attractions, it was extremely noisy from the varsity close by. Be aware that you will be unlikely to get much sleep.
