To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomBit disappointed with the breakfast and breakfast area. It was self service which wasn’t a big problem, however, only one girl stocking up and clearing tables, however, I think it was expected that you cleared your own trays etc (which we didn’t mind doing). The toast machine was stuck in a corner, hard to access and the bread needed sending through two times to actually toast it, this caused queuing, even though we arrived at the recommended less busy time. The hot buffet wasn’t filled up readily and when asked about it, was told to wait! Although hotel did offer notices to request gluten free bread or mention allergies - when i requested a poached egg (neither could I be told whether there was extra ingredients added to the scrambled egg) and so I was told ‘No, only what’s available there’ Hence I had to have my breakfast without any eggs or beans for that matter due to waiting ages and nobody bringing any out when we were still waiting! I don’t think at this time my allergies were taken seriously. I know the breakfast is stated as complimentary’, however, going of the other hotels we looked at booking without breakfast options - this is actually added into the charge of the room.
Good view from room window, but windows didn’t open to let air in. Room was comfy, towels and bedding clean, shower in bathroom very good. Tea and coffee facilities available in the room and iron and ironing board to use if required (we didn’t need to use these). Plenty of room in wardrobe area for a short stay and one set of deep drawers between the beds, the beds by the way were small doubles rather than singles which was a bonus for us. Location of hotel to where we needed to go was spot on and only a short walk from the shopping areas and train station.

Even if the firs night was £20 and second night thereafter £10 but £20 per 24 hours is excessive so need to find alternatives.
