To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomI don’t like not being able to open a window especially when we had a lively balcony we could’ve sat on. Breakfast was awful overcooked bacon and sausages, no offer of eggs. Much better breakfast at budget hotels.

United KingdomThe pillows on our bed were way too soft, which caused a bad night sleep Breakfast was okay, however for the price we paid for the overnight stay I expected a lot more quality for the Breakfast: the sausages were dried up, no fresh tomatoes, no fried eggs. The hasbrowns were hard and the scrambled eggs were too dry.
The breakfast was okay. The hotel was clean. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Loved the restaurant right next to the hotel.

the buffet breakfast was so delicious for us, it was a good start for the day. the location is very good, bus stop is very near like in front and in the side of the building. we also walked from here to princes street which made us enjoy the view going to princes street. its lovely place.

United KingdomThe front desk lady, Cristina, was not friendly at all. She just had a blank face when we checked-in. No smile, nothing! We were really put off by this. Didn’t make us feel welcome at all and made us feel like she was doing us a favour. No pleasantries whatsoever.
I like that the rooms are clean although they never washed the drinking glasses. I liked the size of the room and the location was very quiet. The rooms were made daily. And the breakfast was satisfactory.

IrelandI didn't like or I rather to say "I dont understand" why the staff are without any expression to welcome or even farewell any of the guests. No one greets or smiles at you whether it comes to housekeeping or the staff in the restaurant or the reception even all like 😐. You have only breakfast included and a small buffet compared to the other resturants in which we stayed in (even Hampton by Hilton ones) and in which I have worked in the past for a lot less wage than them and a lot more on the buffer and in general yet everyone was welcoming with a smile or even expressing their farewell, engaing with the guests. Here is about the same if you just enter in or walk out, as well as buffet oftenly not having much on, yet some staff sit on the table while they wait to pick up the plates😬 bit unprofessional I think it is definitely something to work on.
I like the way Hampton by Hilton is very nice hotel and the room are always comfortable.

United KingdomBreakfast time disorganised, needed a front of house to allocate seating of guests. Guests self directed to tables; Couples were are tables for 4 and families were cramped around make shift tables!!! Some staff were a tad rude ( mix of either very friendly staff or the other extreme and not so good at customer service).
Quiet location, minimal road noise in room. Approx 20 mins walk to the Castle. 10 mins walk from Haymarket station. Nearby Tesco express, Costa and Subway if need a quick snack. Some staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, in particular the overseas employees. Standard similar to a Premier inn, so pleased.
