The room was large with a large bathroom. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The services provided were good with an adults only pool which was a welcomed feature.

The hotel room didn't have a mini fridge or cooler to accommodate my mum's medication which she requires as she's diabetic.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was a good base for what we wanted to do in and around Basingstoke. Although we didn't use the facilities available they definitely offered a lot if we did want to use them. The buffet breakfast was nice and there was a lot on offer to have - both hot and cold/continental plus as range of juices to drink. The lounge/bar was lovely - a nice, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. We enjoyed sitting there during the evenings. We only booked in for 2 nights and had housekeeping come on the second day to check if we needed our rooms cleaned or additional toiletries/ towels. We also had a very smooth and efficient check in considering the hotel had a wedding party arriving at the same time.

No A/C (I didn’t check review, so my fault) but was hottest day of the year - for £120 a night, you’d expect A/C in 2024. My balcony door on my room didn’t open, it was above 30* in the room. Carpet was very old looking, few stains and looked like it was laid in 1976, if they sorted that the room would look 100 times better, rest of it was half decent, although curtains don’t block much light. A contractor was using drill at 3.25am (that’s not a typo) which woke me up, he then also used a hammer. I called reception who confirmed and apologised that work was going on at 3.25am. It was baffling and cost me a decent night sleep. I can’t fathom why work would take place at that time, with guests staying?

Gym was nice and spacious, good equipment that looked fairly new - pool and spa are also good, nice and clean changing rooms and nice easy lay out. Staff all polite and friendly, everyone says hello etc. room good size, bathroom was very nice and looked like it had just been done. Bed comfy! Good parking right outside.

First room did not have air conditioning and was quite dark and tired but it was changed on request (we were informed that these rooms are being updated). Prices of drinks and food in bar were quite expensive.

Very large free car park and booking in procedure was quick and professional. Changed room with no problem. Breakfast was very good and many options. The offer of free drinks from the room mini bar was most welcome and unusual. Meal in bar on first night was good quality. Tesco , Domino's Pizza and various other food outlets and restaurants close by.

Too far from reception. Husband is disabled and struggled walking to the room from the lift. We had a dog and we didn’t want to leave her in our room while we had breakfast as she’s nervous. So took her to the restaurant and was told no we couldn’t have breakfast in the restaurant and they wouldn’t allow us to eat it in the bar lounge So not dog friendly. Find another hotel if you have a dog. The guy on reception said he’d only charge for the room not the breakfast or our dog (£25 a night)
