They need pillow, duvet and mattress protectors as these were heavily stained which meant for an uncomfortable sleep knowing they were unclean. The single beds are narrow and my travel companions said they could feel the springs in the mattress which was also uncomfortable. Our en-suite was nice but needed a deep clean especially the grouting. The carpet also needed a deep clean as did the chair in our room which was dirty. There were black mould marks on the coving. Also the room was very hot. There was no lift which meant lugging a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs very challenging.

Staff were nice and accommodating. They didn’t seem to mind you hanging about until your lift to the airport. Lots of seating areas. They provided airport shuttle service for a fee and had on site parking for your car at a fee. The breakfast was nice although not included in price of room. We had a luxury suite and so coffee, tea and toiletries were provided. Good that they have triple and family rooms with en-suite.

Cleanliness not a priority. Excuses given, not too impressed. Stained bedding/ mattress/ bedbase. Curtains have cobwebbed residue. Dead moth on unwashed net curtain. Paint marks in various place (will send pictures direct for refund, possibly full?) Lack of concern to customers. So called limited resources!? Not staying there again!!!

Location was ideal for Gatwick Airport and no more than a mile from Horley Railway station. Shops and restaurants in the nearby town centre (Lidl/ Morrisons/ Waitrose/ Wetherspoons/ Post office/ Nationwide building society etc). Car park partially enclosed. Buses covering that areas as far as Brighton in the south, Gatwick Airport, Sussex/ Surrey borders.

We are both OAP people and struggle with mobility. When we arrived I asked the man on reception if there was a lift. There wasn't, not his fault but I was hoping he might offer to help us get a heavy bag up the stairs. He just said ' oh it's only one flight of stairs. He then tried to sell us a taxi deal.

The bed was comfy and the bathroom was ok. It was fairly close to the airport

The continental breakfast was very basic. A slightly larger variety of cereals and some more fresh items (like fruit, cucumber) would have been nice. It is located in the middle of Horley - making it a fairly long walk from the airport, but not long enough to justify a taxi.

24hr reception was very convenient, as I arrived late at night. The rooms are okay and contain all basics: Kettle, small selection of teas, private bathroom with shower. Staff is friendlly.

Staff were very polite, allowed us to get a drink on arrival although they were just about to close the bar. Breakfast good choice for "continental". Nice that it is included in the price and they also offer you the option of a bag to take with you if you don't have time to sit down and eat. Fairly basic accommodation but absolutely fine for overnight stay before flying from Gatwick.

£15 pp shuttle seems expensive for the 4minute drive to the airport. Breakfast was nothing exciting, probably this way so you pay extra to upgrade. There’s also no lifts and no help to carry bags up the stairs (or at least until you’ve already started walking up which is a pointless offer)

    Close to the airport
