Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandMy only problem was the shower didn’t have a handle attached to the wall to assist you getting in and out of the shower could slip if not to careful

United KingdomThey don't serve food on the evening. I have arthritis and am a little unsteady - getting out of the bath after a shower would have been easier, with less risk of falling, with a rail/handle to steady myself.
A beautiful setting with a gorgeous view across the river to the Cathedral. Very quiet. Large room with comfortable bed. Very clean.

United KingdomAsked for additional fee if we arrived early for early check in and late check out . We feel due to the cost of the room this would have been more discretionary like other Hotels Breakfast on Saturday a bit chaotic and long wait even though they staggered timings need more staff or better organization on guest timings Less people on Sunday it was fine Breakfast very good when we got it
Good check in and rooms very comfortable and friendly staff

New ZealandRoom 4 a bit noisey when loud Americans park themselves in the reception directly below the room to debate the merits of US politics at 11pm but 24 hr staff moved them on… not sure they ever solved the merits in this years political offerings!
Great outlook onto green grass and river. Enjoyed the complimentary drink/person thank you

United KingdomFor us nothing
The hotel was perfect for exploring Salisbury, close enough to walk into the city, the staff were friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast for all tastes and food at lunchtime. Evening meals not served but many restaurants in the city with the hotel providing a free shuttle service. Also, the hotel has 4 car charge points in the large car park so perfect, if like us, you have an EV. Our ground floor room was very spacious with a door leading out onto the grassed garden area and view of the river and cathedral.

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit chaotic, the kitchen didn’t appear to be ready for the 0800 start .and caught short when an influx of guests outstripped demand. I couldn’t quite get my head around the time was 0805 and yet the bacon etc was cold…one for the kitchen to address.?
A privately owned hotel and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised when the receptionist took our bag and showed us to our room. The description of a room with a view was an understatement…it was spectacular. There was even a “ Giraffe “ in the garden! The room itself was very comfortable and had all the bathroom things that you forget to pack. We were given vouchers for a drink in the bar, very nice too! The next pleasant surprise, was the hotel runs a shuttle service in to the City centre and back again. The driver, Jason was so helpful with suggestions of places to eat and drink. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room was spacious, bright, is good decorative order and an attractive design, working air conditioning, black out curtains, very clean, comfortable bed.

United KingdomGenerally not much to say on the negative side. There is some transfer of noise between rooms, particularly creaking from the floor above, but I suppose that is the nature of a heritage building. I was a bit surprised that the complementary bottle of water (filtered water in a refillable bottle) was not replaced on the second day.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view over the river meadows towards the Cathedral. The hotel is well located in a quiet area about a 15 minute walk from the centre of the city. Staff are friendly and efficient. Although the hotel does not offer meals other than breakfast, they seemed keen to ensure guests were given plenty of information about restaurants in the city and a shuttle service is provided. Overall, a well run and high quality establishment - I would not hesitate to stay there again.

This property is beautiful, very well kept, with spacious, clean rooms. Staff is super helpful. Location is wonderful, away from the city, but a close enough walk, or you could just use the free shuttle service. We loved staying here.
