Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaStairs to our apartment were narrow and as older people it was hard to carry up luggage.
Great location as it is close to Bayswater tube station and therefore easy to get to London attractions. Easy to find pubs and restaurants to eat at. Apartment was comfortable but had many stairs so hard to carry up luggage etc.

You can hear people above you walking / dragging chairs etc. VERY annoying and for the expense we paid - that was not commensurate and more like a 3 star feel sadly .. You should be able to sleep without being woken up from people upstairs!

AustraliaHotel is a rabbit warren with long winding corridors, several floors and many doors to open and close. Getting to our room, especially with bags initially was an effort. There was no toaster and very basic cooking equipment. The room became quite warm in the afternoons, the windows only partially opened and the air conditioner was loud and took up space on the floor. As it was only early June I imagine later in summer might be quite uncomfortable. The shower was not easy to work out how to use.
Location was within a 10 minute walk to tube stations and local supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, but was also pretty quiet. The two single beds pushed together were comfortable and we slept well. We were able to store our luggage in a locked room on the day of departure.

Great location close to two tube lines which we used a lot depending on where we were going. The bed and pillows were perfect and the kitchen very useful for having breakfast before heading out. The room was spacious and I loved the bathroom mirror light!

Has a spacious room for 3 ppl, great location nearby Hyde Park and Paddington Station (and many more tourist attractions), 1 table with 4 chairs are available - great choice for a family/ friends to stay together.

Fantastic location close to tube (district/circle and central line) and various bus stops, close to amenities and Hyde Park. One of the nice aspect is that it is close to the Diana Memorial Playground which is fantastic for a young family. The apartments are nice (we have stayed several times now) with all you need for self catering

ThailandWe asked for more blankets for four people, but the staff questioned why we needed them. We explained that we wanted to use separate blankets on the sofa bed. After some discussion, the staff eventually provided us with the additional blankets.
The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to 2 underground stations. It is surrounded by many dining options, great restaurants, and supermarkets. The hotel is clean and offers amenities such as a microwave.

Czech RepublicSometimes problem with pressure of water in the shower. The sofabed was very uncomfortable - really used for long, so the padding was nearly gonne.
Very quiet neigborhood even so many restaurants and shops + 2 underground station in close walking distance. Clean hotel with all we needed (dishes, hairdryer, towells...) We asked for more blankets (it was 2 double-blankets for 4 persons in the room) - no problem with that.
