Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Very nice hotel with all you could ask for including complementary loaner bikes and a pillow menu. Fancy! Easy walk from train station and close to the sights.

United KingdomThe bar lacked in atmosphere a little. A centra fire feature would help enormously, the same in each fireplace. This would really make a difference. A good choice of low level music would help.I would suggest checking out the Grand Hotel in Birmingham for an excellent bar which works very well indeed and not too disimilar to the Gonville.
Very comfortabke beds, great pillows, excellent staff. The new bar opened while were there and it made a huge diffrence.

United KingdomBeautiful old building which once housed the Fellows of Gonville and Caius College. It exudes old fashioned class from the outside with modern bright interior. I loved the glass lift. A nice touch. The garden to the side of the hotel is such a great bonus for a hotel so close to the centre of Cambridge. All the tourist spots and shopping and The Fitzwilliam Museum are within walking distance even for the not so able bodied (I have MS). The room was luxurious - I was very kindly upgraded by the hotel to a luxury twin room. I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Jessie on reception and she made everything clear to me re breakfast etc… I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for ambience, friendliness, cleanliness and comfort (the beds are very comfortable). I was fortunate enough to get a free ride in the hotels Bentley with Zane. It was a treat I shall NEVER forget. Thank you Gonville Hotel and staff.

United KingdomThe only thing that let it down was the bathroom was a little underwhelming with a glass door that didnt close properly alongside the room being a little dark.
Excellent customer service from the reception staff straight upon arrival. Went above and beyond which allowed us an early check in. The hotel has a lovely garden out the back which we took advantage of before heading out for the evening. Very central location, 10 minute walk into the main centre. Breakfast very good.
