Lovely property, elegant decor

The room was very spacious and had a lovely decor. The location close to a big, green area (Parker's Piece) made it very charming. Also the old town and train station are in walkable distance. The bed was huge and also there was a sofa and an armchair, so you really have options to get comfy. Bike rental would be possible, if needed.

Bathroom needed more shelf space, a washcloth, and the shampoo felt off, as though the container had been filled with hand or body soap instead.

The light in the bathroom was set wrong and wouldn’t go off at night or turn on during the day. Unfortunately we were only staying one night so to there wasn’t a chance to rectify this. It was very expensive.

Really lovely luxury feel with gorgeous garden and very nice modern furniture but cosy and floral. Would be a super wedding venue. Coffee machine in the room and real milk was a nice touch.

the tour with Zane on the Bentley (offered for free by the hotel) was amazing. Zane knew everything about Cambridge.

The bathroom was small, and there was no refrigerator in the room, which is a big disadvantage. It was expensive compared to other hotels

Breakfast was good, choosing from a menu. Quite and close to the park. Stuff were nice

Cooked breakfast was awful. The bacon was exceedingly salty, the sausage (1 serving per person) was not cooked properly and when asked for it to be cooked more, the waiter took them back then brought the sausages back with commentary: “these chef said these are now very well done”. It’s pork meat. It has to be well cooked! Perhaps the waiter should have asked us how we wanted our sausages cooked, if chef expected that piece of info.

Everything: clean, great decor, great quality and super clean sheets and towels, good mattress, polite and helpful staff, central, good size TV, good WiFi, NO MOULD IN THE BATHROOM AT ALL! Good aircon / good temperature, no funny smells, easy check-in and checkout, quiet, spacious, beautifully presented.

Our room was very comfortable and breakfast each morning was very filling and a great way to start the day.

The Gonville is perfectly located close to nice places to eat and shop and an easy walk to the Cambridge colleges.

some of the less experienced staff were a little hesitant but were clearly being well mentored by their senior colleagues. nearly 30 quid to park my car was a bit much but thanks for letting me keep it there after check out while we went into town.

light and airy, very clean, lovely big room and comfortable bed. a bit of a walk into town but through pleasant surroundings. The staff were lovely with a special mention to Imaan in the bar and Robert in the restaurant, both of whom were fabulously professional and attentive. The food in the terrace was outstanding

We couldn’t get a parking spot at the hotel as the car park only has a free spaces and it was full when we arrived at 2.30pm on a Saturday. We found a space in the nearby road.

Beautiful boutique hotel with a lovely garden. Great location. Free bikes which we used and loved cycling around Cambridge early in the morning.

Nobody at reception when we arrived. Had to ask the bartender to find someone, who turned out to be what seemed to be a student who seemed unsure of procedures. Finally a competent person showed up and all was fixed. Not a great first impression!

New small plates menu was new to the Terraces menu and a bit hard to follow. Quality of food was good.

I am not a fan of the buffet breakfasts. This is the second occasion I have stayed there and I would not include breakfast on the next occasion.

Very convenient location. Great bar area. Helpful staff. Easy parking. On this occasion our room was spacious and very comfortable.

Breakfast was very delayed and no real apologies. We were 2 couple and 1 of the 4 breakfasts came out 20 mins before the other 3 - very uncomfortable eating alone

We loved this place!

This room was amazing! This hotel was the bests we have stayed at in all of UK! It was quiet, clean and comfortable - especially the bed, as Americans we get confused by UK bed sizes, we are used to a US King and this was 2 twin beds together with a comfort top which had no seam in the center and was spacious and comfortable! The room had air and a fan which was very comfortable to sleep, which we did! The bathroom was clean and had a nice size shower. The breakfast was great, even for me, as I have food allergies, they were very accommodating! We took a nice bike ride around town with the Hotel bikes - amazing!

I think there was a shortage of staff and this affected our meal in the evening and breakfast the next day. However, huge apologies were made and the staff thanked us for our patience.

We liked the very comfortable room and the style of the hotel. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.
