The only criticism that anyone could make , is that the rooms are a bit tight. BUT, that is it. I would definitely stay here again (and again)

Breakfast was brilliant, order on the tablet and any adjustments are easily taken care of by Ian, in the morning. The room and bed were comfy and warm. Amazing location, with an easy walk to Windermere or Bowness. It is also on the Hop on Hop off bus route for further afield. Nicely maintained, the host is there if you need him, and there's tea and coffee in the room. Parking outside or across the road is ample. We even managed to use the free pool access, with a hot tub and steam room to take away the aches and pains from a walk around Loughrigg

I stayed at Glencree for 2 nights after reading all the positive reviews and what can I say except for what a wonderful guest house, it exceeded my expectations, it was spotlessly clean and modern, the host Ian was polite and couldn't do enough for you. The location is great only a 10 minute walk into windermere or Bowness. The breakfast is made to order at a time to suit and was lovely, the breakfast menu offered a good selection and catered for dietry requirements. I would certainly recommend the guest house and when I visit the area again will most certainly be staying there.

The breakfast booking system using the tablet was quite clunky and needed lots of unecessary information. I would have happily have used a paper form.

The accommodation is in a good location for exploring Windermere, Bowness and the lake. We were able to walk to restaurants in Windermere in the evening for food. The owner was very helpful and was available to answer questions.

Everything was perfect! The room was excellent with quality accessories to make it a really comfortable stay. Breakfast we had one full English and one smoked salmon and scrambled egg both providing a good start to the day. The host was very friendly and helpful throughout the short stay clearly going that extra mile to look after guests.

Perfect location within short walking distance to everything you need, room was absolutely beautiful! Very clean with a stunning balcony that you can hear a stream flowing past. Breakfast was lovely and the owner was so canny and cheerful, can’t wait to come back again 10/10 !

Great position for walking to both Bowness and Windermere. Bus stop 50yards away for the hop-on hop-off bus which takes you to Grassmere and Ambleside, well worth a visit. Lovely comfortable bed. Great breakfast selection and lovely, friendly host.

What a stunning place! From start to finish Ian made our stay wonderful, he is so lovely and the hotel is just perfect. Location wise right between Windermere and bowness which is great and our room (room 5-queen room) was perfect! Free parking is a great bonus and Ian allowed us to park pre check in to start our day. The breakfast was fresh local and tasty , we will definately be back!
