I was able to arrange leaving my car on the car park the night before my stay, as I was going on a long 24 hour walk. All I had to do was notify the reception when I arrived and leave my vehicle registration number with them. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful, pointing out were all of the amenities were and what was expected from me as a guest. This was my first time staying at a youth hostel but it will not be my last. Well done to all.

Tea Coffee supplies were missing. Washrooms during stay were not very maintained, although understandable for a hostel.

Nothing, I thought it was well run, far better than the youth hostels I used as a teenager.

The kitchen facilities were great. The en suite shower with plenty of hot water was wonderful, the geographical setting amazing. A memorial stay. Thanks.

They had a really big group who came by bus and totally took over the central area - it was impossible to hear each other or have a game of cards. Can happen of course but would be nice if this was communicated so we could have changed our plans and go to the restaurant nearby

Location is absolutely perfect and the people were very nice and helpfull. Room and kitchen were very clean and organised and again ... looking at Glen Nevis from your bed is amazing

A small disclaimer to bring your own soap

it is the cleanest hostel I stayed at in Scotland! The staff and facilities are well maintained given the size of it. Very good location to hike the Ben. Top two hikes I did in Scotland, remember to plan it for the whole day

I had my car ring my stay, but guests who didn’t have a car struggled with the local bus as it was not very regular.

The location was brilliant as it is only a short drive away from Fort William. The views from the hostel are gorgeous, and the Steall Falls walk down the road was stunning. The place itself is kept very clean, the kitchen was very well-equipped, and the staff were friendly and knowledgable about things to do in the area. I’m definitely coming back again.

The room was clean and convenient size for two people. The location was great, near the Steall Falls and Ben Nevis mountain. Also there was a restaurant nearby. We moved around with buses and taxis and they worked really good.

Next to a very busy road but we only stayed one night so did not experience it during the day (garden facilities)

good location at the foot of Glen Nevis. Spacious facilities, kitchen, dry room, rest room and eating. The best Youth Hostel by far during our hiking tour in Scotland.

Location was brilliant - there is a hiking trial directly across the road that links up to Ben Nevis. Car parking and drying room were were both used. Although drying room was quite full! Great restaurant 2 minutes down the road. Room was simple and neat with a bunk bed, 2 x single beds and small ensuite. Staff were very friendly.

The hostel is spotlessly clean and the facilities are excellent. Drying room was a totally unexpected bonus for all my wet gear coming off the mountain. Couldn’t fault the hostel at all.

Some of the frying pans were a little worn from people using metal utensils, could be worth swapping spatulas to silicone as people can’t be trusted not to scratch teflon. 😂

I loved staying here, by far the nicest hostel environment I’ve experienced so far and clearly attracts great guests too, got chatting with almost everyone in my dorm. Super friendly staff and the facilities were so clean and comfortable. Room layout was thoughtful with more than enough space for 8 people to comfortably set up. Generous kitchen space and comfy communal areas, with a bus stop to town right outside the hostel. At the foot of the Ben too, what more could you want?! Loved the little library, pamphlet sections, and the leaflets to tell reception where you’re out hiking just in case, so thoughtful for solo travellers. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Fort William.

I was surprised how modern was everything in this hostel and how I felt at home in the bed and also in the common room. Ben Nevis just in front of the window. I hope i will get a chance to stay here again :)

Apparently the windows could only be opened slightly.

Compared to other hostels the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel felt very luxurious. The room was spacious, there were lockers beneath the beds, there was a little reading lamp, a tiny nightstand and two sockets and USB-charging ports. There were lots of showers and toilets and you can wash and dry your clothes for 9£. There is a hiking route that starts right at the hostel if you want to climb Ben Nevis. There‘s a restaurant that‘s almost right next to the hostel.
