Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Helen our host was welcoming and friendly and has thought of everything including phone chargers in the room which was spotless. The breakfast was exceptional. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was of a higher standard than a lot of hotels we have stayed in. We will definitely be back.

United StatesWhat an amazing place to stay. I wish we could have been here more days. The room was spacious and the bed incredibly comfortable. We stayed during a weekend and the cars can be a bit noisy but ear-plugs provided by Helen were already in the room and we slept incredibly well. It really is the nicest and comfiest room I have stayed in during my Scotland trip. The bathtub is perfect for a bubble bath. My husband who is usually too tall for bathtubs was able to enjoy a bubble bath before bed. Helen was always very helpful and kind. Her dog Poppy was the sweetest dog. Breakfast was delicious. Helen is a great host. The house looks like a small castle and the property has a charming garden with trees and benches to sit on. We would love to be back!

United KingdomYou could hear some passing traffic at night but didn’t bother me at all. My husband was maybe more aware of it but Helen even thought to provide ear plugs, next to the bed, in case we were bothered by any traffic.
Lovely light and airy room. Very comfortable bed. Lovely to have a bath and shower in our room - ‘Lewis’. Beautiful toiletries supplied. Incredible breakfast! Didn’t need to eat the rest of the day! Lovely attention to detail. Helen is a wonderful host! We will be back!
