We had an early check in and the room was perfectly clean and ready for us. The breakfast was everything you could want and the staff are not only very efficient but very friendly. This is the 5th time we have stayed in The George.

The George is a beautiful old building which has been very tastefully modernised in a way that loses none of its charm, but provides very modern facilities. I have stayed here a number times and have always been extremely satisfied. Every room that I have stayed in has been excellent, the staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Free parking is provided close to the rear entrance. The breakfasts have always been very good.

I prefer deeper pillows - these were a little shallow for my liking.

Everything at the George feels very high quality - Harris Tweed furnishings, wonderful huge draping heavy curtains, thick cloth napkins, high quality bed linen. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Just an observation, the floor in the room was quite uneven, but acceptable in an old building. Stairs were a bit awkward for someone with arthritic knees.

Everything was perfect. Friendly, helpful staff; excellent breakfast - we especially enjoyed the tasty smoked salmon with scrambled egg but were able to test every option on the menu during our stay and all were superb. Comfortable spacious room.

The George is an old hotel perfectly modernised. Everything in the hotel was to a high standard. We stayed in a deluxe room which was light and well-decorated with an extremely comfortable king-sized bed. There was a very modern bathroom/shower. The cooked breakfast was excellent (although, perhaps, the advertised continental breakfast could be more obviously available). This hotel is highly recommended. A final dining tip: look to eat in pubs and restaurants outside South Molton, where the dining is poor.

Contemporary elegant well designed room and en-suite, spotlessly clean. Great breakfast, even had gluten free bread. Lovely staff, polite, helpful, welcoming, professional and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

I was delighted with the large and comfortable room I had for my stay. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was very comfy and I was also impressed by how quiet the location was. The fact that there is no evening meal available didn't really impact my stay and there is the option to eat any takeaway food in the dining area. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. I found all the staff friendly and helpful. All in all a great place and excellent value for money.

There was a very steep short staircase up to my (attic) room (no. 11) that had no handrail, which I found tricky as I have arthritic knees. A bit dangerous. I did let the staff know that fitting a handrail would be a good idea.

I had a botanical skills assessment the next day so needed a good night's sleep, the room was very quiet so had a good rest after a long car journey. It was also much roomier than I expected, immaculate and well maintained right through and the staff were very welcoming and professional. The breakfast was promptly served and very good, the coffee was excellent and staff helped me a lot in checking my route to the village where my assessment was taking place - getting there on time was vital so I appreciated their assistance. They don't serve evening meals but do put out a place setting for people to eat takeaway dinners in comfort in their dining room. A very civilised and comfortable stay. I'd recommend the George to anyone. It suited my needs perfectly.

On-suite was fabulous apart from a square toilet seat, my bum isn't square and the sink was a little shallow for wet shaving but these definitely wouldn't put me off staying there again, it was a great room.

Breakfast was spot on, 4 days of full English went down well and set me up for the day. I had Room 3 a single occupancy room, the bed was very comfortable and the room was nicely decorated. TV, hair dryer and access to an iron and ironing board, with plenty of room to unpack, additional drawers under the bed was very useful. On-suite bathroom was very clean and well laid out with a super power shower installed.

Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Shower was nice and hot. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Tasty breakfast. Had a key to access main door as we were late getting back.

The hotel was bright and exceptionally clean and the staff were all excellent and efficient. Our room was large and super clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was included in the price and there was a wide choice to suite all tasts. This is the place to stay in South Molton.
