I didn’t like the staff standing outside smoking vapes each morning during the day and an evening, I felt one of the receptionist was very casual, the air-conditioning in my room did not work so I had to have a fan on continually, bottled water was not left each morning, my coffee cup was not cleaned in the morning on one specific day. The first day arrived the television and the phone did not work.

Lovely property and reasonable location, it was not my first choice of hotel. The food was good. The service and the Restaurant and room service was very good.

Sad to see it looking tired. Bar area scruffy . General lack of glam and class this hotel used to have in spades.

Great location, large rooms. Plenty of parking.

It’s quite dated but still works. The restaurant wasn’t so good, food was quite greasy and think they had new serving staff on, so long waits.

The staff were lovely, bed was huge and comfortable, bathroom nice. Lovely garden.

The bar did not seem to have a lot of choice of drinks. The corridor leading to the public toilets was always in darkness, as was the restaurant on our first night (it looked like restaurant was closed).

I really enjoyed the spa & swimming pool. Also it was nice to be upgraded to a signature room as it was our wedding anniversary.

Bed was uncomfy - very dated ( massive slit in mattress) - didn’t change bedding in a 3 night stay, charged £35 for a child visitor to the pool on check out. Pool dated and chipped so d edges but very warm and actually nice !

    Great staff - good food.

The decor throughout the hotel was very dated and old fashioned and it could do with modernisation throughout to be truly a 4 star hotel. The “award winning restaurant, as advertised had a very limited pub style menu although the food was very well cooked and presented

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and we were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The hotel was very clean and the room quiet and comfortable. Lovely gardens The food was very well cooked although the menu was a little bit limited

On arrival we had to wait some time to be shown to our room, however we were offered a hot beverage as we waited.

The garden was very nice - there was no iron in the room but when this was raised, it was sorted very quickly and efficiently.

Cleanliness in the hotel in general was not of a high standard, floors needing cleaning, tables needed wiping / dusting, some staff were excellent - some staff did not appear to be properly trained. If you ordered drinks for garden you had to struggle out with bottles and glasses. Cleaners did not remove or wash dirty tea cups or replenish tea bags, Carpets were dusty round the edges. Grounds unkempt. Room a bit dated. Not helped to room with suitcases and had to go down two steps with no hand rail. No cheese and biscuits on any night.

Spa was amazing, staff, treatment, cleanliness. Food was outstanding, chef is very good, spanish waiter in mornings was very professional and a credit to the hotel. Good location to visit Windsor. Beds and bed linen was good. Room spacey.

Standard of decoration. Its hard to get through to reception via phone at times, Gym has a few bits of equipment all functioning but the gum area is very small. Coffee at breakfast was ropy stewed; I am particular about coffee as its a passion of mine, this could be improved. As a non smoker being served by staff members who are smokers isnt pleasant, although the service was ok, we were the only people in for an early breakfast.

Rooms are very old fashioned but i like that, bed comfy and bathroom clean. This property has so much potential as location is great. Staff friendly beer good, breakfast as it should be although the breakfast area needs a lick of paint and updating when budgets allow, as do the bedrooms! I will stay again as its a good location and appreciate that investment and re decoration comes at a cost . If the hotel owners invest in this site it could be one of the best places to stay in Maidenhead.

I stopped at this hotel 18 years ago and it doesn’t look like it’s been updated since. It’s a real shame as it was a lovely hotel and could be again with some investment. It’s really tired and need a deep clean. Also they don’t provide conditioner which is very poor for a four star hotel with a spa.

Having the indoor / outdoor pool which is heated was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, the evening meal was nice enough and beds were comfy.

They unfortunately put us in a room without a working shower, and when we went to reception they said that they knew that room had an issue with the shower, so it was strange they put us there to begin with. They did upgrade us to a suite though. Could be a little cleaner and they could change a few details so it isn't so old fashioned and out dated. The kitchen was not prepared for the amount of guests staying and our dinner arrived over 2 hours late, and they ran out of basics during breakfast.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel grounds are pretty and spacious. I wasn't able to use the spa but it looked great.

The hotel gets a wide range of reviews and having booked 4 rooms we saw why. Our room was fine but one room was not great with a beer bottle top left on the desk and worn sheets. Dinner was fine if a pity they wouldn't serve in the open covered area but it was a bit Fawlty Towers with plates dropped/broken both in the kitchen and restaurant and then being told the restaurant was closing so dessert might not be possible. The breakfast is greatly overpriced. No decent coffee.

The spa is the main reason to stay there. It was fine although the water was too hot for any swimming and the small garden to sit out on a bonus.

It’s extremely dated, faded and needs a complete refurb. A shame as this could really be a gorgeous hotel with great facilities. Overpriced for what it is.

Staff lovely. We were upgraded to a suite with lots of space. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast was lovely with full variety of cooked and pastries and fresh fruit salad.

Very dated rooms. Smelt like smoke when I walked in. Only 1 sachet of coffee (3 decaf) and UHT milk was lumpy.

On registering we were not informed that the room would only be cleaned if we placed the sign outside the door, day 1 was a Sunday and the room was cleaned on day 2 we were told that it would be cleaned when we enquired but it wasn't! The complimentary tea, milk, biscuits etc were never replenished, we had to ask for teabags etc virtually every day!

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. All the staff were very pleasant, the restaurant manager at breakfast especially so. The breakfast menu was excellent and the food in general very good.

Room needs updating. It did not look like the one advertised in the booking photo. Bathroom seemed newly installed but there was a bad smell coming out of the pipes during by the whole night and did not make it too appealing to use the big bath.

The air con was NOT working and we had a small fan to try and cool the bedroom in a heatwave. We were informed that no additional fans were available, as per the receptionist on 30 July after requesting one.

The manager was very helpful and went over and above with any requests. We enjoyed a swim in the clean pool. The bed was very comfortable in a spacious bedroom. Clean crisp white bed linen...the hotel decor is a bit dated but fine.
