We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

CanadaListed as a hotel is misleading, it should be listed as a guest house. No private bathroom. The door will not lock, it should at least have a bolt for privacy. The bed is a pull-out couch. The room needs a proper bed.
Very friendly hostess. Large room with huge wall mounted TV, lots of channels to choose from. Bathroom close to bedroom. Good location, close to supermarket and pubs. Did not mind the parrot but it does not like men and says goodbye if you get too close.

Elizabeth was really kind and helpful, and got up early to make me a cuppa. It as ok in terms of cleanliness, could have been cleaner. But i was not paying a lot, so cannot expect too much!

United StatesThis is a home-stay. We were so fortunate to stay in an extra room in the family’s house. They were very kind and accommodating. We spent the evening visiting with their parrot and two bunny rabbits. The parrot was a comical bird that was very entertaining and took an instant liking to my wife. The three bridges that cross over the inlet north of Edinburgh were all visible from the window in the kitchen. Our room overlooked the garden. Any food, entertainment, shopping or need was just a very short walk away from the house. Many restaurants were available to us, we only had to choose our liking. The owner was very crafty, all the walls and rooms were carefully decorated with sayings, pictures, kick-knacks and such as to make the home seem special.

It was great. The owner was very kind and solved all the problems we had. I couldn't speak much English, but she explained everything to me carefully. And when you go out into the hallway you can hear the parrots whistling. It's very pleasant. The bus stop to Edinburgh was just a 3-minute walk away, so the location was great. It's not a hotel, so it's a bit inconvenient, but the price is reasonable and the owner is a great person, so I'm very satisfied. Thank you very much.

Sri Lanka· Where to begin? Room doesn't have a keyhole, you cannot lock the room from inside. Nobody was there at the house when we came in, but imagine staying in a homestay and you cannot lock the door from inside. Anyone in the house can just open the door and can come in. My find found it hard to sleep knowing the door was unlocked. Kitchen was nasty, half eaten pet food was in the kitchen top. House was full of pet smell. Washed linen sheets were hanging from the ceiling as we enter the house. If it wasn't a late check in, I wouldn't have stayed in the room and would've found another place to stay the night.

United KingdomWe were looking for somewhere cheap to sleep overnight as we had an earlyish flight from EDI. On first blush, this seemed to fit the bill nicely. Admittedly, I didn't fully read every word of the listing. However, I did not expect what we got. On arrival, i found the property was a 4 in a block ex council house in a council type estate. We could not gain entry as the keysafe code I was given was incorrect. A phone call to the host revealed that she'd overlooked my booking and said she'd be home at 7 pm (it was currently between 4 and 5 pm) to "pull the bed down and make it up", but did give me the correct code. On entry to the property, I was met by a set of wooden shelves laden with paint pots, packets of plant food, etc. There was a skateboard and approximately 8/9 pairs of shoes on the stairs. The hall was painted in purple and yellow neon paint and done in a camouflage type pattern. There was also a strong smell of animals. On entering the main floor, we found that days washing hanging from the ceiling, and being over 6', found my head right in the middle of it. At least two sets of ladders, amongst other things, adorned the hallway.. We were then greeted by a cheerful whistle from the parrot in a room off the hallway. The smell of animals got stronger. I opened the living room door to find NINE rabbit hutches against the far wall. By this time, enough was enough, and we left to find an alternative again, receiving a cheery whistle from the parrot. On the plus side, I called the host again to tell her we'd not be staying as arranged and after a little discussion agreed on a 50/50 split refund based on her missing my booking and me not fully understanding her online line description. I did expect the parrot, and on reading the description again, do recall reading about the rabbits. However, I expected them to be outside in the garden in proper and appropriate animal accommodation.
Price, host seemed helpful and friendly enough.
