Listed as a hotel is misleading, it should be listed as a guest house. No private bathroom. The door will not lock, it should at least have a bolt for privacy. The bed is a pull-out couch. The room needs a proper bed.

Very friendly hostess. Large room with huge wall mounted TV, lots of channels to choose from. Bathroom close to bedroom. Good location, close to supermarket and pubs. Did not mind the parrot but it does not like men and says goodbye if you get too close.

Bed not very comfortable, a futon and mattress, so i did not sleep well. It was extremely shabby! But i guess it was value for money at only £36

Elizabeth was really kind and helpful, and got up early to make me a cuppa. It as ok in terms of cleanliness, could have been cleaner. But i was not paying a lot, so cannot expect too much!

Lovely quirky home with a fantastic talking parrot! The bed wasn't super comfortable as it was a sofa bed but it was more than made up for by the friendly warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. Excellent location near the bridges and a short taxi ride from the airport.

The host appears to be rude and does not know how to talk properly to guests. She thinks gusts use her as a slave and that she's not a hotel. She has various pets in her house like a parrot and expects the guests to take care of them. In addition, she often vanishes from the house without locking the door or telling how to lock the residence. Overall cheap but not good for long stays

The room was okay.....bed good. TV had Netflix and Amazon Prime and was good enough for a couple

My partner and I only stayed here for one night and left at 3 am for the airport. Was in a very good location for the airport as there is a bus stop to the airport less than 10 minute walk. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely lady and her son. There were very nice and welcoming.

Anne is a lovely generous host. I was delighted to meet a bunny and a parrot. We played uno with her son and Anne invited me to some touristy places. I Also broke my phone on one of my adventures, I made it back to the accommodation and Anne took me to get a new one.

Considering the price, nothing at at all.

Room was clean, very comfortable and well appointed - very nice! Bathroom was clean and functional. The view of bridge was impressive as well! Location is perfect: a Co-op shop is one minute walk away, the high street is a few minutes walk away. The hosts were very pleasant and knowledgeable.

The house was quite cluttered although relatively clean. The room was spacious but the bed was a pull out sofa. You would need to be comfortable with animals-rabbits roamed free and a parrot took up residence outside our door.

This room in a house was in a good location for both the train and bus and short walk away from the main shopping area/ restaurants.

It wasn't clear whether I could use the kitchen eg to make tea. Anne did make me a cup, but there were no facilities in the room.

Anne was very warm, friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable, quiet and attractive. I liked the fact it was different and more entertaining than other locations - I enjoyed getting to know the family, including Macey the parrot. I had a really good night's sleep.

Extra guest bedroom in a personal home in a suburban area of Edinburgh. Small & very “homey”!

Location suited our purposes. Ann, the owner was nice, very accommodating.

This is a home-stay. We were so fortunate to stay in an extra room in the family’s house. They were very kind and accommodating. We spent the evening visiting with their parrot and two bunny rabbits. The parrot was a comical bird that was very entertaining and took an instant liking to my wife. The three bridges that cross over the inlet north of Edinburgh were all visible from the window in the kitchen. Our room overlooked the garden. Any food, entertainment, shopping or need was just a very short walk away from the house. Many restaurants were available to us, we only had to choose our liking. The owner was very crafty, all the walls and rooms were carefully decorated with sayings, pictures, kick-knacks and such as to make the home seem special.
