A few finishing details needed attention such as the kettle wire not reaching the plugs, the electric light switches that are a bit temperamental. Also parking was very busy so struggled to park, even in the overflow. Also no gluten free bread at breakfast, despite messaging the hotel before my stay to notify of dietary requirements.

Great location for exploring Northumberland. Lovely hotel with great decor style. Each area is different! Great food and drinks in the bar and great atmosphere. Really quiet in the rooms so slept well!

The room was new and finished to a high standard. It has a walk in shower, tea and coffee in room and high end finishes all over . The restaurant and food was excellent and the look of the whole dining area was modern and light. Great stay

There was a surcharge for afternoon tea that was mandatory (I wasn’t told about at time of booking). The odd thing was there was no surcharge at dinner.

For the price (£250 a night) there could have been some extra touches in the room. Dressing gowns, vanity kit etc. Body wash bottle had only a 1/4 of its contents left when we arrived, which we felt should have been replaced prior to arrival. No hot water for shower on first night. TV didn’t connect to any channel so just watched Netflix via the app. Also, we brought our little dog and would have hoped for some acknowledgment of this such as some doggy treats or towel in the room but there was nothing.

The estate is beautiful, very peaceful and pretty. The room we had (Zara) was comfortable and clean. Lovely bathroom. Restaurant was fabulous and really is a credit to the hotel.

honestly i would have liked the meat and cheeses continental breakfast, which i prefer to english .friends breakfast came with no egg or hash brown, i ordered scrambled egg and salmon, when asked if it came with bagel etc, answer was no, no offer to add bagel/muffin etc

Honestly the pictures on Booking.com do not do this place justice. It is absolutely stunning. Our rooms were fabulous facilities and decor stunning and so interesting. The restaurant food was fantastic and they squeezed us in despite being fully booked and did not make a big deal of it, gorgeous breakfast etc. I will definitely re-visit.

This hotel is amazing, in it's quirky and exceptional decor, very beautiful too. Our room was perfectly equipped & with all mod cons. The meal we had was delicious and beautifully presented. We walked around the grounds and loved the rural setting. An idyllic place for a wedding and a get away. We will be returning

When we arrived we weren’t asked for our booking name. It all did seem very quiet so I presumed that we were the only ones checking in. Also asked to choose our breakfast options and time as we checked in. Had to be an early breakfast as check out is at 10am which is a bit rushed and early !Don’t know if any other occupants in the hotel that evening. We were asked if we wanted to pay to upgrade but we didn’t bother. If the hotel was so empty a free upgrade may have been nice seeing as we were dining in the hotel too? There was no one in the bar area and hardly anyone dining in the restaurant so there was no atmosphere at all. We didn’t linger after the meal for drinks as only us there so we were back in our room for 830 pm. I’m sure at other times the hotel is bustling but it did feel a bit flat.
