Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeen lied my room will be decorated for my son. There was not even one decoration. I wouldn’t mind if I wouldn’t receive an email that this will be arranged for him. Gutted. My son is only 3yo and we’ve been given a bed not suitable for his age! There was even a sticker on the bed that it’s not suitable for children below 6yo! Who is responsible for all failures, I understand this is a budget hotel but I paid over £160 for two nights which wasn’t even cheapest option! On first day supervisor came very early in the morning asking if we want service. We said yes but after 12 o clock when we leave for event. We came back after 3pm and room was not even touched, exactly as we left it. I was annoyed so I called reception to ask why service wasn’t carried on, lady was surprised we want service regardless we left information on the door that room is ok to clean. After short conversation with stuff someone showed up, apologised and explained it’s busy and they forgot. Also not full service was provided then. I also bought a pizza for £12. Honestly it’s a steal as I didn’t expect cheapest frozen pizza from Tesco. It was disgusting and I honestly feel robbed. We felt extremely unwelcome, staff was very cold and gave us impression that everything we asked for was a big problem for them.
Comfortable beds and good location.

United KingdomGrab rails not brilliant and someone had tucked the safety pull cord up into the ceiling tile by the shower - this is illegal. Given it was 7th floor and I;m a wheelchair user someone should have pointed out where the refuge areas from fire are. Didn't need the towels to be chaired but they were. No socket by the bed - my husband uses a machine that needs to be plugged in. Please warn that this is the case in room descriptions. No shelf / space of any description in either room or bathroom, and no llid on the toilet.
Accesible room ' room (althoujgh only just in some cases) to use wheelchair in room

Breakfast was a basic continental style, but set us up for the day. I just needed a bigger coffee cup 😁 room were spotless, tv worked. Staff were friendly and efficient.

United KingdomFor the price I paid for a night, it is not very worth it. The main entrance was very hidden inside a car park, and the signs are not very clear. I do not know who organized the hotel but is a maze and very confusing. Staff are not very engaging and they asume you are familiarized with the ibis hotels. For example, I had to discover by myself that I need to tap my bedroom key on the lift so it can move. Also, I was made to do a check-in online, which I did not understand why. Breakfast is acceptable, nothing special.
The room was clean and spacious.

United KingdomWasn't worth the money, for a continental breakfast, a small toilet in your room, showers wasn't big. The walls are paper thin could hear everything at night. You get a ibis in Aberdeen for half the price spotless. Big ensuite and it's central. I asked for tea at night as there was not a kettle in the room and was told no. Even though I was willing to pay at 9pm.
Team was friendly, place was clean.
