Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe gentleman working there totally blanked me when I was walking down the stairs. Given that it was fairly early and there was only him and me around, I found this impolite at best
The lady, Nong, I believe, was very friendly when I bumped into her on my way our. She made me feel very welcome.c

AustraliaA bit pricey.
Comfortable room in a lovely house in a quiet street. Breakfast provided as a pack which you can eat in your room, or in the dining room.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything unpleasant about it. The shower isn't very powerful but it's an old house and is to be expected. The TV isn't a fancy smart TV but we barely used it so it didn't actually matter. Breakfast is delivered to your door in the morning (pre ordered). It would be nice to have a hot breakfast but this is what works for the owners and it was still nice. Fresh and tasty.
The location is perfect! Very near to the seafront and town in either direction. Just a ten minute walk to market jew Street. Lovely, bright and airy room with a very comfortable four poster bed. Plenty of tea/coffee and a clean kettle. My husband loved that there was a bath.

United KingdomThe guesthouse is located on a quiet street close to the sea front. On street parking is available nearby. It's a lovely old building with pleasant gardens. It's a bit dated but I loved the ambience and the eclectic mix of furnishings. I wasn't keen on the breakfast arrangement, rather impersonal. We took ours to the breakfast room, rather than eat it in the bedroom. The breakfast was good but, like others, didn't like the plastic containers. We met Nong, the owner, briefly and she was charming. I think that serving breakfast in the breakfast room would be a great improvement.

United KingdomThe bed in Room 7 was very uncomfortable and on the small side for my friend. he had a poor night's sleep because of it.
Everything was very good. The room was clean and all the facilities worked . The breakfast is an excellent idea. We took ours away with us to have on the train. The staff were very helpful and efficient.

United KingdomDidn’t feel the hosts were that friendly when we arrived. I didn’t feel a warm welcome that I’ve read from other reviews. Also, when I double checked by email whether we could leave our bags in their conservatory, they just copied and pasted the previous email they sent which put me off.
Breakfast was great and timely. Room was a nice size. The room has a back in the day feel to it which we liked. It generally felt like a cosy hotel not too far from the train station and in a quiet area. It was clean too.

beautiful looking old hotel/mansion like.. to walk in the entrance alone was a great start . The instructions for entry worked well as no one there . room was spacious ,shower pressure good and as with most english places separate shower and wash basin. United KingdomOrdered the yoghurt for breakfast and didn't eat it as it was lumpy and smelt off; minor issue in comparison to the whole stay. We also couldn't get the TV to work.
Location was super convenient - close the to town centre. The beds were extremely comfortable and exactly what was needed after walking the coastal path. Breakfast was lovely!

United KingdomThe very steep stairs to my single room. Perhaps i should have asked or had been warned. Continental breakfast delivered to room which was fine but having other choices in dining room with other guests would have been better. It was sad to see the dining room empty and soulless.
The quirkiness. Lovely landlady.

United KingdomEven though it’s a nice touch to have breakfast brought up to the room it also comes with a lot of single use plastic pots, most likely ending up on a landfill even if properly recycled.
Beautiful house in great quiet location. Maybe the decor is a bit outdated but I thought it added to the charm. There’s a lovely garden as well and the hosts were very friendly.

The breakfast was a bit of a surprise. Delivered to room door in paper bags. Generous and well prepared but a lot of plastic. All cold. No hot drink. We took the breakfast to eat on the ferry. The milk for the cereal leaked everywhere so we made a mess.
