Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCan’t think of anything that would have improved my stay. Was surprised that there wasn’t a TV but didn’t really miss it at all. Staff couldn’t have been more attentive . So thank you. Their whisky is lovely too!
Breakfast was beautifully presented in the Conservatory with lovely views of the countryside. Cooked breakfast was perfect. Continental alternative was great too. Evening meal was great too, cooked to perfection. Service was quick and professional by cheery staff members who were very welcoming .

The staff were very pleasant. The dear lady who checked us in(unfortunately forgot her name) was so pleasant. The place had no mobile network and that feeling of being cut off was great especially coming from a busy and bustling city like London. Everyone at the hotel were informal and the people around seemed warm and felt like a big family. I highly recommend to stay here for a day or two when on a trip to the Isle of Skye.

United States of AmericaWe had trouble with shutting the bathroom sky light window and was quite chilly one morning. Next night we were able to close that window.
Gorgeous setting with beautiful views. We stayed in Room #15 which was amazing to look out at lighthouse and Loch. The staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful and fun to be around. The Isle of Skye is an incredible destination and staying at Hotel Eilean larmin made it perfect and a very special memory. Rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Dining at the hotel was elegant offering delicious meals.

United KingdomWe had a lovely large room and bathroom overlooking the loch. We chose to eat in the pub/bar as we could have the dogs with us. The food was great and the bar had a great atmosphere. Afterwards we sat in the lounge area with our dogs. Breakfast in the morning was also excellent.

United KingdomPerhaps access to additional room heater to give initial boost before the radiators reached temperature in the lovely executive suites in the external converted barn but not really an issue.
The roaring open fires in hotel lounge, restaraunt and bar which were kept assidusously topped up were a welcome bonus esp. for chilly winters evenings!

LithuaniaThe only minus - quite hard to find (subjective assessment).
The room was rustic style with luxurious bathroom. Employees were very friendly and supportive. There is a pub in this hotel with live music - the public looked so intelligent. Bed was comfortable, breakfast - superb!

AustraliaCharming old hotel with lovely accomodation situated right in the Loch. Very friendly helpful staff. The pub attached was good fun for a drink before we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant on site. Great breakfast as well. You can also enjoy the guest lounge areas.

United States of AmericaEverything was lovely, only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't stay longer.
We had a lovely room overlooking the sea in Room # 15, I mention because I think it's the best room on the property, we had a view over the water and of the lighthouse. I would have loved to stay longer. We ate both dinner and breakfast which both were excellent. We had a front window table that was charming. The staff is super friendly and the pub on site fun. The property has an outdoor peninsula with tables that are great to just sit and sip your beer and watch the gorgeous scenery. The location is close to Armadale to catch the ferry back to Malaig. I hope to come back one day and spend some more time.
