The English in the welcome email wasn't clear, so I had to send a message to the hostel to find my room (as there is no reception at the hostel). The door locks didn't inspire much confidence.

Location was good. The shared kitchen was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, milk, bread and fruit.

The locks were old and some things - like our door knob was not properly attached

it was close to the Royal Mile and at max a 15 minute walk from everything I needed in the city

This is just feedback for improvement : I was given only a hand towel, would be nice to get a proper bath towel. Certain room fixtures could be improved. Items in the fridge for breakfast need to be checked and replenished timely. There was no butter for the bread when I was there.

For the price you pay, you get a clean room with comfortable bed , lots of power sockets and generally bright room. The location is unbeatable. There are fruits, tea, coffee, milk, bread, egg , cheese and cooking facilities if you want to make your own meal. I was lucky that there wasn't much noise outside. It is quite a good deal for the price that we pay.

Didn't bother with the breakfast as it was essentially cereal or eggs you prepared yourself.

Location was close to train and bus stations (~8 minutes)

The room was very small and I seen pictures online of much bigger rooms. It felt a bit cramped and no storage

Location is perfect, the check out was 10am but the staff let me sleep until 12 as I have a few drinks the night before.

Nothing that really fire the eyes, but you can tell that the bathroom need some renovation. If you have a lot a luggage, perhaps the room is gonna be too small for you. If you are travelling with a carry-on, you will ok.

Localization is pretty good, as well as the communication. I needed a late check-in and the instructions were clear to follow.

Instructions to enter property we're emailed and written rudely. No towels for showering just 2 hand towels supplied. Only 1 very flat pillow each. No TV in the room Hadn't realised not ensuite and unsure what time could go in the shared bathroom. Hadn't realised it wasn't a cooked breakfast supplied, sure I read buffet breakfast supplied and there were only 4 portions of butter to use for toast and no other option other than egg. There was alot of outside noise between 2-3am which I appreciate cannot be controlled but rooms at the front, as we were should have this reflected in the price.

Cereal and milk, tea and coffee nicely supplied.

The b for breakfast wasn't available. No one there to serve anything. Just some already opened bottles of milk and some rancid other products in the fridge. Don't expect anything to eat in the morning.

It's really really close to all the famous venues in edinburgh (the royal mile was only 1 street away) and that's it's only advantage. But hey, what can you expect for this price. Don't book this if you want to explore Edinbourgh for e few days. It's ok if you, like us, tend to stay for one night and move on.

For the price it serves a purpose. Room temperature changes a lot, too warm then cold, not possible to have fresh air come in from the basement room. The emergency light sign makes it appear like daylight all through the night. Furniture is a bit shabby. It has charm for sure, but one recommendation, get some printed signs, they will look much more professional than what is currently used!

Good location. Fair price for the night. Friendly interaction with staff in the morning. Would return for one night if needed.

It is a bit basic and there was no television in the room. Also as others have said, it was noisy, both in that you could hear other guests coming and going, and also the street noise outside. I slept in room 1 which faces the front. I would consider staying here again, but most definitely not on a weekend as on a Tuesday and Wednesday night there were a lot of people passing by until the small hours and talking loudly and sometimes lights coming on etc. It was lovely and warm in the room which was welcome on a cold winter's night but the heating was turned up full blast to the point where it was an uncomfortable heat and I didn't like the room being as warm as it was. Also there was no ensuite bathroom and it was a shared bathroom, not good if someone needed the toilet in a hurry......... lol (which I didn't by the way lol)

Good communication prior to my arrival. I don't like self check-ins but I was Emailed across good and clear instructions. I was in the area to attend a show at the Festival theatre; EdinB&B is very close and only a few minutes' walk away from the theatre which was perfect for my requirements, and the main reason, as well as the price, why I decided to stay in the property. Very close also to several of the main attractions and a good place to use as a base, also being central someone can come back for a while to either put their feet up or charge their phone. There is a kitchen available for guests to use complete with a microwave and cooker, so someone could easily cook their own meals, also some food is supplied for breakfast. I didn't bother to have breakfast, however, and opted for a Greggs instead. EdinB&B is in an ideal location as there is a Greggs just a short walk away and also a Tesco also a very short walk away which is open until midnight.

Despite being a budget hotel, the shampoo offered far exceeded most others. In addition to the full size bottles of shampoo, there were amenities such as toothpaste, cleaning products, and some produce in the full sized kitchen. Checking in was as simple as picking up a key from a dropbox and everything was very clean. Highly recommend for any budget traveler.

People making noise at 2am! Honestly, who has a shower then? No staff on hand, could be risky for solo female travellers. Not one single FORK in the kitchen! Really? that needs sorted!

Ideal location for the Old Town, clean room, kitchen and bathroom, Youth Hostel style with the privacy of a single room. Also nice just having six rooms, didn't need to see anybody, perfect if you're an introvert!

The noise from outside the room. Property is quite close to the pub and the walkway. My room was no 1 at the front so I could hear all the noise from outside. Lack of rails for hanging towels in the room. I think since the bathroom is shared, a rail to hang towels in the bedroom would be nice. There is no way of hanging towels in shared bathroom.

Location is very close to bus stops and being allowed to leave my luggage before checking in. I was going to start work at 12:00 and finish at 20:00 so it was nice of Tamara to allow me to leave my luggage. Having a kitchen was also nice even though I only used it once. I only noticed on my last day that there is a big fridge which separate compartment for each room.
