Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe razor socket in room 234 didn't work. There were no drawers in which to put things; they had to be left in my suitcase.
There wasn't any, so I went to the Creperie next door

United KingdomThe rooms are comfortable but quite basic for anything more than an overnight/weekend stay. There is very limited hanging space and no drawer space for clothing. The only place to sit was on your bed.
It was in an ideal location on a bus route with onsite parking. The showers were hot, the beds were clean and comfortable and the rooms were soundproof. No food available onsite but plenty of places to eat nearby and a small Tesco and a small Sainsbury’s opposite.

Hong KongDespite that hot water is provided in the lobby. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room.
The location was fabulous, with several shops such as tesco and m&s available nearby. The room was very clean and neat. Moreover, Diana and Ayesha were very nice and helpful during our stay in the hotel.

United KingdomThe only aspect of my stay which I found odd was the lack of a window but that was my choice - in future I would pay a little extra for a window.
It was modern and very clean, the bathroom was excellent and the bed comfortable. Summertown is a short bus ride from the centre of Oxford but it's a very nice area in the north of the city - there are good places to eat and drink nearby. You could walk from the centre in about 25 minutes.

United KingdomExpensive (but maybe not for Oxford). Wifi was very variable, sometimes fine sometimes not working, at various times over three days. Ventilation in my room was noisy, even if I turned the a/c off. Didn't bother me much, but might be an issue for some. Rooms are v small. This is advertised, but it goes beyond the carefully designed pod rooms that I've had elsewhere. It's literally big enough for the bed and just enough room to walk around three sides of it. There's nowhere to put your bag. There's nowhere to put anything down. Nowhere to sit and/or work, except sitting up in bed. Or on the toilet I guess.
Simple, no-frills hotel in a well-connected location (40 mins walk into town, but many buses from very close. Close to supermarkets and cafes). Clean, good shower. Excellent staff. Relatively affordable, for Oxford. Provides the minimum and does it well.

United KingdomThe only downsides are small things - the room is very small with no storage spaces to unpack your suitcases into & the windows do not open for fresh air (but their is air con) & asked at reception for housekeeping to please refill the hand wash 3 times but it never was so we ended up just buying some.
The price is unbeatable in Oxford (we paid under £500 split between the two of us for 1 week in May). The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We could ask for fresh towels whenever we needed them. The location was very nice with both Tesco and Sainsbury’s directly across the road, as well as an M&S and Boots just a 2 min walk away. A couple of nice brunch/coffee spots across the road too (Columbia Coffee Roasters & Gail’s) plus a wine bar. It’s only a 10 min bus ride for £2 into town (or a 35 min walk). The staff (Leen, Aura & the guys) were very polite and helpful - we even got offered a room upgrade for free on check in from the cheapest windowless room to a room with a window, which was nice.

NetherlandsWell, it's some tiny things, but there could've been more hangers for clothes and shelves. Like, make the most out of a small room.
The fact that we could drop off our luggage to go and explore Oxford. After we came back, we were kindly welcomed by Angel and Aurora.
