Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only negative was the parking. There is an adjacent street which you park on but there were no spaces available upon our arrival, so we had to keep moving the car around during our stay.
A lovely spacious cottage which was clean and modern, and really nicely decorated. The bedrooms were comfortable and nice bathrooms too. We had everything we needed there. Great location close to the lovely village of Richmond with restaurants and cafes and pubs nearby. The host was a friendly and great communicator, and offered a very helpful handbook with the property.

United KingdomI dont have anything to say bad about this place, its everything you could have wanted. We travelled with the in-laws and two children and there was plenty of room for us all
What a fantastic cottage this is, couple of minutes walk to the square and all of its shops, restaurants and bars and another minute to riverbank. Brilliant location and a lovely house to stay in, we will definitely return in the future

United KingdomParking is on street close by but limited. Kitchen is a reasonable size and fine for our party of 4 might be cramped if any more people. Property is on quite a busy and noisey road. No use able outside space.
Three bed house with living room and dining kitchen close to town centre with on street parking. Bath room shower room and separate toilet. Recently decorated and feels fresh and well equipped.

United KingdomParking was a bit of a nightmare given how many car we had between us. Also the barstools in the kitchen could do with replacing with newer ones

United KingdomIt would have been ideal if there was a shower attachment in the en-suite in the master bedroom as the only small single shower room served potentially 8 guests (we were only 2 adults and 2 kids so not a major issue.) Downstairs toilet and basin would have served the down stairs double bedroom but this didn't have a shower so all guests would have to use single shower upstairs. Kitchen would have benefited from a micro wave
Conveniently located near Town centre - Spacious and well equipped cottage. Wifi and good selection of Freeview TV entertainment

United KingdomSome traffic noise, Dundas Street is a road through Richmond. Extra fee for pets. No views (but very convenient location for village). Heavy duvets were a bit too much in warm weather. A coffee plunger please :) every other kitchen gadget was there. Otherwise congrats and thanks for hosting:)
Great communication from Ben by message :) Very well appointed accommodation, all mod cons and all shiny like new with thoughtful decor. Ben has thought of everything guests would need for a comfortable stay. Very well equipped kitchen, towels, linens - all very nice. It's the rear part of the house on the corner of Dundas Street and Frenchgate. No dedicated parking but places were available on Frenchgate a short walk away. Parking permit provided :) Very central in beautiful Richmond. Takes pets (for a small extra fee). Selection of books and guides was useful.

United KingdomNo negatives and also no criticism on this exceptionally beautiful holiday home, but would consider improvement with the following items: - Out of the 8 kitchen stools, 7 of them were very unsafe to sit on – one was even broken. - Would consider a blind/shutters in the downstairs bedroom as there was no privacy from the main road outside. - Back gate could do with mending as it dragged along the floor. – For the future, would also maybe consider a downstairs shower room for any elderly guests who can't get up the stairs.
Cottage: Loved it! Exceptionally clean, comfortable, very spacious. Had a lot of character. Loved all of the nooks and crannies. Great mix between the original features with the modern. Fantastic large kitchen. Comfortable beds. Although it's next to a road, it was still very quiet at night. Heating very easy to use. We loved the rabbit/hare theme going on throughout the property. Free parking on Frenchgate with supplied parking pass. All important information sent over early ready for our arrival like key box number, WiFi code etc. Well done Ben! Location: 2 minute walk into Richmond centre and Lidls. Sunitra’s Thai is a must too!

United KingdomWatch out for steep stairs if you are a bit wobbly 😉
Location excellent. Parking was convenient. Kitchen was well appointed and oven easy to use. Cottage was warm and cosy and had plenty of space for coats and shoes. Which we needed because our weekend was wet. Think it might be a bit tight with 8 people in the kitchen.
