Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe tried breakfast in the hotel, it is very basic, tastes okay but doesn't match with the hotel's general grandeur. The bathroom sink was terribly high, not sure if it was only our room. There is no minibar/ fridge in the rooms. Also our room was not cleaned during our stay, we had to ask reception for coffee/milk next day.
The location is stunning, the staff is lovely. They are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms have kettles. Our room had a nice view. The place is very tranquil.

United KingdomTV channels limited to 1. Poor signal. No telephone in the rooms. No entertainment and children's zone closed earlier.
Everything excluding TV, television, entertainment, and children's zones closed far too early. Loved scenery views restaurant food was incredible drinks immaculate condition. I would be back with my Google cast stick thing and during a higher peak time in July August. Views were incredible

United KingdomJust little things really, like the coffees were quite expensive and although there was a proper machine to make them we were given push button coffee instead. The cocktails whilst ok, were not mixed but instead poured from a pre made bottle. The pool looked ok but as a couple we felt it was more of a set up for kids and family rather than a relaxing spa style pool. The spa was actually closed both days we were there so not able to book a treatment.
The estate is in a beautiful spot, stylish decor and a great family friendly feeling to it. There is a shop, restaurants, bar and pool and lots of other activities if you chose to do something more adventurous. We stayed in the hotel in a superior king room which was nice. The food in the restaurant was quite reasonable and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe room was ridiculously hot with no way to reduce the heat. Window was open permanently, the fan provided in the room was on for the duration of our stay. It made very little difference. I'm sure in the middle of winter this would be great. However, on a mild day it was almost unbearable. The communication from reception staff could have been better. We arrived as they switched to off season hours. This was not mentioned to us. Therefore we missed the pool on our first day (it closed an hour earlier than advertised on the website), and the restaurant doesn't open until 9am for breakfast (when you're an early riser, it's a long wait for food!). They were very friendly and welcoming, it just would have been helpful if this was mentioned to us at check in (or the information online was updated).
Beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed and nice linen. We had breakfast and a dinner in the hotel restaurant, good food at reasonable prices, particularly breakfast. The facilities on site are brilliant, for all ages. We used the pool, steam room, sauna, gym and had a treatment at the spa. The amusement arcade area was well equipped, and there seemed to be lots of activities for children to do. It's a big site but it never felt overly busy, it's been designed very well. Good walks from the front door that are marked along the way. Great to explore the area.

United KingdomOnly quibble we had was that it was extremely warm in our room 104. The air con unit didn't seem to make much of a difference. We had the huge window open wide for a bit and cooled down... so that's why one point taken off.
Beautiful grounds. And the facilities on site were all we could ask for. Staff were all amazing and friendly. Big shout out to the Australian server in the restaurant... he quickly adapted to our sense of humour and had a bit of fun.

United KingdomCouldn’t get the room safe to work - not a big issue. One single bed was really firm and uncomfortable if you are not used to it, but all other beds were excellent.
Very new, modern, hotel decor and rooms very well fitted out, well maintained and in excellent condition. Nice room facilities - good coffee machine etc. Main bed was excellent. Restaurant food and service was excellent with amazing view. Overall seating and view are amazing. We did a couple of the kids activities crossbow and pottery which they liked. Good sized swimming pool as well.

United KingdomThe room was far too hot and an antiquated aircon unit was all that was available. It didn't actually cool the room so we were too hot day and night. For the price, we would have expected at least a buffet breakfast but there was nothing, we had to go to the restaurant and buy something each morning. Also, at 3.50am the fire alarm went off. All guests got out and stood waiting for a staff member/fire warden to arrive. That took another 15 mins. Obviously no fire drills are run because the response was dangerously inadequate. We had our dog with us and had to pay a daily rate. A general comment that hotels who charge for the pet are simply profiteering from it. We brought the dog's bed, his food, water, bowls, everything and he makes zero mess. I would hope that hotels etc would stop doing this.

United KingdomRoom with view of gas tank and bin area (211) disappointing considering the setting of the hotel Poor selection of local beers in restaurant - and staff had poor knowledge of the few bottles of Loch Fyne ales hidden on the bottom shelf
Fantastic setting, great walking and tried the cycle hire App-Bike which was good but bikes very heavy and only 3 speed gears make going tough in the terrain. E bikes are available also though. Pool facilities very good - could do with a spin drier for wet gear. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times

Isle of ManOne of our rooms was incredibly hot, a fan was provided and it was reported during our stay but that made it more uncomfortable in that room. Two of my family are gluten free and the range of food available in the restaurants was extremely limited and the positions were on the small side.
Loved the location and setting. Facilities like the swimming pool and activities were great. Beds were comfortable.

United KingdomThe only drawback I can say, the bed in the super king room I booked, for us it was a little too firm a mattress and that is just a personal preference, very comfy otherwise.
It is set in a gorgeous location and views to die for. Plenty of options on the grounds for activities, old and young. Choices of food and drinks.

United KingdomLimited wifi reception in our room. TV reception was also patchy. Bed was super firm. Biggest complaint is that they do not show allergy info on the menu, instead giving you a 20 page folder of tables that basically says everything but chips and jacket potato contains gluten. They then verbally inform you that they can adjust certain menu options but this is at your own risk. I was told they do this to reduce their liability risk.
High quality building in a unique location. Reasonable food prices given its a captive market. High quality bathroom and towels.

United KingdomChoice of food was okay but not great. Breakfast was very disappointing. Would be better if more choice in non cooked items. I.e yoghurt, fruit, croissants etc. On second morning of stay was told they had run out of orange juice. This was 9a.m in the morning!
The setting was stunning. Good view from the room. Quiet and clean.
