Absolutely amazing. We were on the ground floor - there are 3 apartments and plenty of parking room We booked for 2 nights as we were walking Scarfell Pike on Saturday 1st June (but did not want to pay stupid prices in Keswick area and only a 40 min drive). The accommodation is fantastic - Vanessa provides fresh milk - there's tea and coffee - and bakes you a cake...we had a warm Lemon Drizzle one of the best I've ever had. There are coffee pots, and a great selection of pots and pans and a dishwasher. The shower is just the best I've seen - better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in. Also provided are dressing gowns and Shower Gel, Shampoo etc. Comfy bed, nice sitting room area Across the road is a pub - basic food, big plates and good quality - after the walk I was not going to cook. I can highly recommend Dovenby Apartment

The building is beautiful and the rooms were very stylish. The bed was so soft! The host even brought us a homemade lemon drizzle cake. Totally exceeded our expectations.

Great location and lots of space Vanessa is the most wonderful host, she met us with chocolate cake, gave excellent tips on activities and sites to visit, even did a load of washing for us. I would love to be able to return one day and highly recommend the apartment

The busy road outside, though very little noise inside the house. Lack of door hooks in bathroom for dressing gowns/towels etc.

Everything was thought of, breakfast cereals, frozen pastry. Hairdryer, heated curlers, excellent cooking utensils, large screen TV. Etc.etc...plenty of space and spare room for our suitcases and holiday equipment. The owner even brought an excellent home made lemon drizzle cake! A good size car park and a pub across the road. Good and quick responses to our questions before and during our stay. And a nice substantial old building to return to after visiting local places of interest.

The location was ideal for many areas of the Lake District. It was easy to find, and very quiet despite being just off a main road. It was well stocked with amenities and Vanessa, the host, even baked us a cake. We found it very comfortable and cosy. The shower is excellent too.
