We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesFront desk was great but rest of staff were apathetic. Room wasn’t made up despite hanging sign asking for it to be made up. Elevators were held up by staff for their benefit over customers needs. No fire going in bar fireplace despite cool temperatures. Property a little dated but still serviceable. A shuttle into Newbury would be a nice touch even if only twice a day. Daily charge for spa availability really not warranted for this property.
Liked that it was a resort, not just hotel. Liked the coy pond and proximity for nice path walk to Donnington Castle.

United KingdomWe were told that to use the spa facilities each person had to pay £10 extra per day. We were told that this charge only applied to Booking.com customers. This was extremely disappointing - especially as a Genius level 3 booking.com user. As a result we did not use the spa facilities as a matter of principle. However, when we paid the bill the £10 charge had been automatically added. Only because we examined the bill did we notice - the charge was then removed when we explained that we had not used the spa facilities. This should definitely not be automatically added and I do not understand why booking.com customers are discriminated against.

We were well looked after and enjoyed the informal atmosphere. There was a good choice at breakfast and the porridge was excellent.

United KingdomGreat- Everything was lovely about the hotel the only down fall was on the first night I could hear everything from the adjoining rooms. The guests in those rooms were so loud one was having a conversation at 5:30am and I could hear everything. The banging around their room I couldn’t understand because looking at my room I couldn’t understand how they could be that loud. The plus side was I mentioned it in passing when ordering lunch and the lady I spoke with went to the guest support person and she came to speak to us to apologise. Even though I know it wasn’t the hotel’s fault I appreciated that they cared. The second night was fab as the noisy guests left and the spa is fantastic!!

United KingdomHotel was a little bit dated. Cleanliness wasn't the best. There was a foot print on my pillow and some areas need a good dusting, not just in our room but downstairs toilets. Limited vegan options in the restaurant so went elsewhere to eat. Rooms a bit expensive
Swimming pool and spa areas were lovely. Good effort was made to provide vegan food for us at the event that we attended even though they forgot non dairy milk for tea and coffee. Appreciated the food though.. The room was comfortable with air conditioning
