The room was nice and big, but there were dog hairs on the floor. The common areas needed a vacuum. The meal was ok, unfortunately it looked and tasted like it was all microwaved, but understanding the issues with staff currently.

    The location was very good.

The wifi signal was really poor. There were 2 smart TV's but it was difficult to sign into netflix which for us relaxing watching a film in the evening was what we had planned for. The kitchen wasn't well equipped for self catering, we ate in each evening and we did struggle a little with the lack of utensils in the kitchen. You would normally expect a cloth and some washing up liquid and a tea towel, there was none of these things. Other self catering holiday lets normally provide these things

The cottage was quiet and looked newly renovated, it was large and very light upstairs, bed was very comfortable

Dirty, dusty, damp, hole in the bathroom floor. Sofa wasn’t clean, had crumbs all under the cushions that you could see when sat down. Carpet wasn’t fitted properly. Spiders in all the corners - obviously hadn’t had a deep clean in a long while. Kitchen items weren’t too clean either. Bathroom smelt - windows and windowsills were the worst part.

The fact it was an apartment - good location Bedroom was the best part.

The corridors and entrance foyer to apartments hadn't been hoovered for a long time - grass and debris everywhere. Carpets inside apartment had dog hairs all over them. Some of the kitchen equipment and utensils had food stuck to them. Exterior of building very shabby, paint peeling and windows uncleaned.

Location excellent, near town and transport links but in a quiet village. Accommodation comfortable.

Not very clean. Apartment smelt of curry on arrival from previous occupants and dish washer was still running even although we checked in 6 hours after the check in slot. No sheets or pillows for 3rd bed (sofa bed). Staff were very helpful though

Although informed of twin beds the King size bed wasn't pulled apart and fitted with single bed linens. Fortunately a hotel staff was around and he sorted it for us. The old Manor House furnishings were dated and the drainage system smelled for the first few days of our stay.

Views and location from the apartment were great. The lakeview is only from the hotel but anyone can use the hotel facilities and walk to the lake. Direct path to Keswick. Wonderful cafes , vegan or otherwise, for breakfast or brunch.

The apartment was not cleaned properly In the out of way areas , behind bed and side cabinets was thick of dust, also behind settee in living room. Heated towel rail , leaking shower head, and Tv aerial were not working on arrival , so reported it to Helpdesk, no one attended throughout stay to rectify. I fixed antenna myself in end. We did have a great time in Lake District

The apartment location is excellent , great views, and extremely quiet, We stayed in Scafell apartment which was a nice little place , we also had our 2 springers with us , who loved it too

A Block of Apartment Needing Improvements

Dirty front door mat at the entrance to the apartment block. Hot water over the bath shower was erratic. Only one hand towel was left on the bed. No hotel guest information book was available. The kitchen sink had a blockage which we brought to the attention of the Derwent Hotel Reception (which runs the Derwent Manor) twice with no satisfactory outcome. We gave up complaining about it!! The apartment block needs an injection of cash to modernise it. If you can put up with the shortcomings then Derwent Manor is worth considering.

Well equipped apartment with plenty of room. Location is close to the town. Hotel bar and the lawn was excellent. Walk through hotel bar to the Derwent Water was a treat.

Needs a bit of love - quite old, needs a scrub. Would be a bit more welcoming if every door didn’t auto-slam (closing the place off to light and breeze.) bathroom had funny smell. Staff couldn’t really be bothered. But okay for a short fly-through.

Cute location with nice surroundings. Comfy beds.

We weren't provided with tea towels, and the dish sponge was used and still has food in it. The carpet around the bed was unclean and hadn't been properly vacuumed. There was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain.

It was a big apartment. Staff were friendly when I constantly needed to go to reception to ask for things I didn't have.
