Lack of TV aerial, but understand if signal not great. House tired in places, but good for what we paid. Would stay again if in area.

Large property with more than enough bedrooms for what we needed. Large well equipped kitchen. Village location was good, near to Snowdon..

The property is much in need of a refresh. The decor is tired and the walls and paintwork are scruffy. This didn't matter much to us but the cottage was also not clean. The downstairs carpet was badly stained and covered in animal hairs, the sofas smelt of dog and there were cracked tiles in the kitchen with mould. There were unwashed baking trays in the oven and we felt the need to wash the crockery and utensils before we used them. There was no door on the shower which resulted in water on the floor making it slippery and the cottage had an unpleasant smell when we arrived. In addition to all of this, when we returned to the property on the evening of our first full day the electricity was off. We tried to contact the owner via every method available after ascertaining that it was just our property involved but didn't have a reply until after we had left the next day. It turned out that the meter was a prepayment one that the owner has to top up online and this hadn't been done! Luckily, my husband was agile enough to stand on a chair to find the meter box and knew enough about electricity to be able to access an emergency top-up of £10. It was a good job we were not elderly and unable to clamber on chairs because we had no help from the owner. This all meant that we had a late meal and couldn't have the hot showers we were looking forward to after returning from our day walking. When the owner did contact us, they said that the meter had been topped up but there was obviously a gap between it running out and that happening. As we could see the smart meter, this clearly wasn't so as all that was showing was the emergency top-up.

Plenty of room for seven guests. Quiet location. Parking for two cars. Two bathrooms - one with a bath and one with a shower. Large kitchen with table for dining. Three sofas in lounge. Large TV and TVs in two of the bedrooms.

The housekeeping staff was rude, disrespectful, and ignorant towards our issues. The house was not clean enough with spiders and other such insects in multiple areas of the house. As soon as we entered, we could see cobwebs at the front of the house, in the kitchen cabinets, and spiders moving all over the place, when asked for help, I did not get a response from the owner until few hours before we were due to checkout. The checkout time was 11am, and we left at 11:15am due to a medical emergency that needed some attention. When explained to the housekeeper, she did not even care enough to give us a few minutes, instead started taunting us by saying that we should have left before, and it's disturbing them to clean the house. Honestly this was just very disappointing and ruined one of my most anticipated trips with my parents.

The house was really big and in a good location.

This is a continued review of my previous. We was offered compensation from the host about the work being carried out during our trip. £50 Once the host said he was going to transfer the money we received a text questioning us as to why we had used more than one bed, it's my understanding that if you book the whole property then you can use all the facilities, bear in mind we only used two different beds the host was not happy about this and refused to give us any compensation which has resulted in us contacting booking.com directly. I HAVE VIDEO/PHOTO PROOF OF ALL ISSUES RAISED.

I always think first impressions are the starting point for everything, in this case I should have trusted my instinct. Upon arriving at the property we were greeted by the host asking "who are you?" "Are you leaving now?" Bear in mind we had just arrived at the property. (Host had no idea we was even booked in) After entering the property it was clear there had been no cleaning done prior to our arrival, there was rubbish in garden, dust, flies and grime over the window ledges & in the kitchen, the carpets looked like they had never been cleaned & just a general mucky feel to the whole property. There was dog poo in the garden that didn't belong to our dog. Having a general look round the property it was clear it wasn't maintained well, there was a hole with damp and mould in the kitchen ceiling, there was a horrible damp smell all throughout the property. Bathrooms stunk of damp and mould & quite frankly you felt dirtier getting out the shower before you went in. Our stay sadly got worse after the check in date.. Our first full day started well with the intention to just settle into our surroundings & relax after a long day travelling the day before, around about 2:30pm we were disturbed by the host telling us he had builders arriving to do repairs to the roof, we where given NO prior notice of this. We had no choice but to agree to the work with no indication as to how long it would take or how much work needed to be done. The host could not contact us prior to the works although they did say 15 minutes before the tradesman where due to arrive that they were somehow locked out of the booking.com account hence there was no notice. The noise of the work being carried out between 3pm & going on till after 6pm. Whilst you have paying guests in the property this is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! & should be carried out inbetween bookings.

Based on my personal experience I didn't like anything about the property.

There are additional elements to add with regard to my stay at Daron Large Country cottage. Here are the points. It's really unacceptable! Faulty washing machine doesn't work mattresses poor shower 🚿 hot and cold (on and off doesn't stay at the same temp) bathroom sink cold tap not working No lock on 2 bathrooms dirty house (cobwebs, greasy oven) sofa poor cooker electric not working damp in rooms bedroom heating on as too hot bathrooms has no curtains house is outdated Uncomfortable mattress in the twin bedroom had to move to other bedroom. With the amount of money we paid, we expected a smooth stay but it wasn't, problems all over. Ruined a long journey.

Was very difficult to stay quiet during the night, the floor boards creeked everywhere. Heating was preset, found it was on 32 degrees on a day it didn't need to be on, so we got very hot on the first night, kept having to turn it down and then keep turning it down because it would automatically rise again within a few hours, we had to turn all the radiators we could off, especially the ones in the bedrooms. But really, someone needs to go round and sort the defects out, it could do with replastering in a lot of areas and repainting. The lounge windows are dodgy, and the downstairs bathroom cold tap doesn't work. The place has so much potential and it's sad to see it like that when it could look better.

Location was lovely, great views and nice garden and patio area, good spacious place with everything we needed, nice and cosy cottage. The kitchen was a great size and has a dining table in the corner that seats 8, plenty of kitchen utensils and the oven was brand new. The lounge is a good size too with plenty of seating, bedrooms equally as spacious, and so many rooms and beds to choose from, you could take maybe 10 to the place and have a bed for everyone.

where to start?! FILTHY gross dirty disgusting conditions very noisy dogs next door - manic barking until late at night very old house and needs a LOT of updating we’ll get a smart comment back from owners saying ‘why didn’t you tell us how dirty it was?!’ but when you arrive at night as a single parent in the middle of nowhere you simply don’t feel safe enough to create issues especially as they had a Ring video system spying on the house all floors minging with food from previous tenants, wee all around toilets & human pubic hair, dirty toilet seats- so so much more. dust everywhere, dirty Crockery & cutlery - the worst holiday rental i have stayed at in 30 years of being an adult

No outside light in garden, just couldn't see enough with torches. Previous tenants hadn't picked up after their big dog, I would think the cleaner would do a once over to make sure, but I cleaned them all up because I didn't want to walk it in or the dogs to walk it in. The TV ariel is a bit scary. Only held on with half a bracket and what looks like a cable tie so i stood well away. Some maintenance issues that I let the owner know about. TV's hard to work out if you don't know what you're doing as no channels, only firestick and apps. Fine for me, if a bit inconvenient but mum couldn't work it. Darker curtains in the single bedrooms would be better. A second double room would be a good idea. Shower door / curtain would be good.

Great location - away from fireworks which is exactly what we wanted for the dogs. comfy beds. Ideally situated for beach a shortish drive away, and all the other areas worth seeing. Great size rooms. Warm and easy to use heating. Comfy beds Comfy Sofas Plenty of information on the entrance table. Great size drive Quiet - Barking dogs next door as others have said but I could live with that, they were cute. I talked to them through the hedge. Plenty of storage / hanging space Slippers provided. Basics provided / cleaning essentials and handsoap etc.

For a property of this size, more than one room should be a double. There was space in the other rooms for double beds. If this had of been the case, our party would have been more comfortable. The outside space also needs tidying up so it’s safe for children to play. I’d also recommend having your drains cleaned as the bath takes ages to empty and the smell from the outside drain is foul.

plenty of space for the family to socialise either in the lounge or the dining room

The House was extremely dirty, awful smell in living room and downstairs bathroom smelt of urine. Furniture in living room was very old and uncomfortable. The lack of finish in the house really let it down, dogs on left hand side neighbouring house barked constantly. Garden states secure, be mindful of gate as backs on to a incredibly fast road. TV is via a firestick- complicated to use. Aerial on roof is hanging off, very dangerous. Window in living room is broke, had to push it closed from outside. Shower is only half working. Blinds filthy and broken. Front garden a mess, gravel bag left on garden, large industrial bin on drive, it needed emptying and smelt. Kitchen kickboards not secure. The house has such potential but needs lots of money spent to get it to a good standard. Ring camera fitted to front door, this didn't bother us but could put people off as could be seen as a invation of privacy. If your staying take airfreshner and cleaning materials. (Few under sink) I wanted to leave immediately but my husband convinced me to stay.

Location was fabulous. Lovely big house. Great communication with owner. Comfy beds. Fast WiFi. Affordability was great.nice neighbours. Dog friendly.

The grass has not been cut on both the front and back garden. No BBQ as it was on the description. Had to buy one from the local shop. Could do some with some painting, especially in the sitting room.

    Large house, poorly maintained.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children

    • Stayed 3 nights

Poor communication with the host. On our first morning the gardener showed up, interrupting breakfast, he needed access to the back garden, so we had to bring our dog in & his van blocked our car in, so we couldn't leave until he'd finished the front. The second morning breakfast was interrupted by the window cleaner, again we had to bring the dog in from the garden & close all the windows while our breakfast got cold. These things should be done between stays, if necessary during a stay it should be communicated beforehand. I messaged the owner about this but received no response. I also messaged the owner to ask if we were OK to swap the bedding from one of the upstairs room to make up the single room downstairs, as we had an elderly member of our party, it took almost 24hrs to receive a response. I do think all the rooms should've been made up in advance, we also had to bring a lamp down as there wasn't one in the downstairs bedroom. When we first arrived the smell of mould was very apparent, opening windows helped a little with this. However, one of the windows in the living room is broken, once open it cannot close unless you are tall enough to go into the garden and lift from the outside. The property was finished to a fairly poor standard & was clearly rushed, with patchy paint & mismatched furniture. The shower upstairs isn't fully connected, so you can only use the small shower hose rather than the main showerhead. The kickboards in the kitchen aren't attached properly, so they're just hanging off. But the main issue was cleanliness. Beer can, dog poo & old bones in the garden, food in the cutlery drawer, marks on many of the walls, cobwebs, dirty blinds, peeling plaster in the hall upstairs (which my dog tried to eat!), very dirty washing machine, dirty cups, drawers with various junk in them, etc.

The location is well situated in a small village, beaches/Snowdonia both around 20-30mins drive. Quiet, with the exception of the dog next door, but that can't be helped. Rooms are spacious, parking is decent & views from the house are good.

There are many issues with the property. The heating up stairs was leaking into a bowl in the bedroom, and did not work resulting in it being freezing up there. The shower didn't work properly. There was a leak in the kitchen ceiling that dripped into my food, which I then had to throw away. And the ceiling was moldy. There were cobwebs and thick dust on the lights above the dining table (not very sanitary), and while cleaning up after our dog we even picked up the dog poo that wasn't from our dog (white furry Mold on the poo) The decoration and renovations are not a good standard either. I cut my foot on the flooring between the hall and the down stairs bedroom as the door bar is missing. None of the doors close properly and the extractor fan in the kitchen does not work. We cleaned the house before leaving even putting the towels in a wash bag and emptying the bins and the owner has a cheek to complain about me bringing my daughter with me.
