Very tiny bathroom/shower for the price/luxury of the room. Would pay extra for a suite

Lack of a lift up to our room, however, it was a good exercise for us both. The small step from the reception to the main door leading to the steps to the staircase up to the bedroom was risky.

Breakfast went well. The lady who served us on both days was friendly and had good customer care. She made us feel at home and welcomed. She always had a smile on her face when she was serving and never showed signs of boredom.

I have mobility issues and was unable to use the pool as there was no handrail to get in, so my sister swam alone:( I appreciate that aesthetics are very important at The Crazy Bear but a nice gold handrail would be a welcome addition.

The crazy, plush decor gives such a feeling of opulence and is very dimly lit! The pool is beautiful, especially at night, and there are several areas to sit if you want a quiet corner. The bar area was buzzing, and the wine delicious along with the food which was all reasonably priced. A Baileys by the sparkling pool after dinner in a heated booth was a nice end to the evening. The included continental breakfast was excellent quality and very generous portions. Our room was via a courtyard in a separate building but was plush, comfortable and very quiet.

It took us an hour+ to receive breakfast. There was a party of 8 of us, we had ordered extra hot dishes not just the included continental. What went wrong, we still are not sure……we weren’t charged for the extras, but…..it was such a shame, that our stay ended in that way. I have to say that when we did eventually get our breakfast it was generous and tasted great!

The kitchen was not functional and did not fit the aesthetic. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The bin was an eye sore on display.

The wardrobe that lit up was awesome. The bath was incredible. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were super soft.

Said fabulous bedrooms are too dark to put on makeup. I had to open the room door to see. A mini fridge should have come with the price. The continental breakfast was average and a limited and boring choice of hot breakfasts. Some more creative options would justify the price of the rooms. it was lovely as a birthday surprise I probably wouldn’t book again as I don’t think it’s value for money.

Bedrooms and decor are fabulous. The location in the old town is beautiful. Thai restaurant and food was lovely. Room service was very quick.

No facility to make your own tea and coffee in your room. Decor and furnishings are very different and an acquired taste. No bathroom door, just a velvet curtain which with the decor etc was just not to our taste. Value of money was poor. The room was smaller than I expected and for the price we paid for the room I would have expected tea and coffee making facilities within the room and for it to be bigger and have some further nice touches within.

For the amount of money paid a night, there was a level of expectation that was never quite reached. No added extras, one bottle of water in the room and that was your lot which was somewhat disappointing when you can go to basic accommodations and you have tea/coffee biscuits at your own convenience. Absolutely everything was at added cost, even cooked breakfast in the morning which was a real sore point for us, extra on top of the standard continental which was okay at best. It’s also alarming how much the security deposit is, I appreciate something has happened for you to set it as such but that was honestly another ick hanging over our heads for the entire stay, it’s a shame that the actions of a few have clearly lead to this extreme measure. Not sure we’d come again based on these factors which is a shame, feel as though it’s a good offering for a special occasion but offers nothing to make patrons feel special rather than being a blatant money printing machine. Thing is we would have happily spend the extra in the bar/restaurant/room service but felt as though they were trying to siphon money out of us at every opportunity rather than letting their product do the work/speaking for them which is definitely less appealing in my view.

Room was lovely, copper baths a real novelty! Did enjoy our night in the restaurant, real ambience which translated into the bedroom.

Room service would be nice and possibly more spa facilities/ options as there’s not a lot to do at the hotel.

Massages were nice. Decor was lovely. Staff were extremely helpful in making the whole trip a surprise for my partner. I sent parcels the week prior to be left in our room on arrival they were so great and set them up for me. They also suggested a balloon artist who did an a lovely set up for us. Trip wouldn’t have been half as good without the staff so thank you to all the people at Crazy Bear that assisted so grateful to you all.

We were given a room above the front door which proved to be very noisy at peak time. When we commented on it the staff very kindly moved us to another room.

Absolutely stunning location. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Amazing decor.
