Access/maneuvering for parking spot was very tight, and more suited to a pretty small car. Last minute request for a £100 deposit just two days prior to travelling.

Cracking little cottage with all necessary fittings. Loads of useful information from the owners prior to arrival. Very quiet location. Would definitely stay there again.

The skylight window in the bedroom doesn’t have a curtain. The sunlight hit my face at 4am and I was wide awake.

I didn’t like that there was an extra £100 deposit in case of damages to be paid to the owner’s personal bank account. This was mentioned in the listing but it made me very uncomfortable that it wasn’t handled through booking.com. If things had gone badly and the owner decided he didn’t like us he could have kept it and I would have had no recourse to get the money back. The worst part was that on the day of our arrival the owner texted to say he would charge an extra £15 for early arrival when we had discussed and prearranged for an early arrival several weeks earlier. Thankfully he didn’t apply this extra fee in the end. We only arrived 40 minutes before the earliest listed check-in time of 4pm. I have received my £100 deposit back already too (next day after departure) so I guess all’s well that ends well. But it added a lot of unnecessary stress to our trip.

The only downside was the access road to the parking for the property, as it was very tight to get in, particularly in the dark.

The place is very cosy and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfy and bathroom spacious. Property is heated throughout. The hosts were very helpful providing lots of useful information before our stay.

Access to the property is not straightforward since you have to turn into a narrow entrance off the main road through Kirkheaton. This is a lot easier if you turn right into the entrance i.e travelling uphill towards the village centre. Exit is again a slight issue but not a large one. I found I quickly adapted to this. We also noticed that it was quite warm when we stayed and the only ventilation was from skylight windows which required a small step ladder to access. Again it was not a big issue.

The small single story cottage appears a little austere from the outside but once inside it is a true Tardis with all mod cons. It has been finished to a high standard throughout and the dining/lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom were all well presented. The bathroom with underfloor heating and walk in shower felt very luxurious. It is well located for walking to local shops and pubs and the M62 is about 10 minutes away. Huddersfield town centre is also about 10 minutes away and there are many nice walks that can be made literally from the front door.

Has absolutely everything you would need. The bed was super comfy and i loved the heated floor in the bathroom. The cottage was also very clean!

everything. was contacted at 6am on day of stay for a request of £100 security deposit to be paid directly into hosts personal bank account. I requested to pay it via booking.com or PayPal and the host wouldn't budge. In the end we weren't sent check in details so couldn't stay. I tried to seek help from booking.com on the day but never got a response. Now I've been notified I may get a 'no show' charge. If that happens I won't be using this site any longer as I don't feel protected or supported as a consumer. We were left with no choice but to travel back home at 10pm, which was an hour's journey, and I've not been refunded either

We couldn't go as he told us we had to pay 100 deposit a few days before we went and couldn't afford it hes ripped us off for the full amount for the no show 126.52 for nothing Hope he's happy rip off merchant

There were flying ants all over the property. I had booked this last minute as I needed a place to stay, and upon arrival, I noticed that there were flying ants all over the windowsill and the radiator. I then raised this with the landlords, who responded and said I should be entitled to a refund for the booking through booking.com. Not only that, they asked for my bank details to return the security deposit. I gave them my bank details and messaged quite a few days later asking where my refund was. They completely ignored my message and I still haven’t received any refund to this day. I was in the property for a maximum of 30 minutes, of which mine and my friends boyfriends checked out the place just to make sure everything was fine before they left us be. I am appalled at the customer service received here, as I most definitely didn’t damage anything in the property considering I was there for a maximum of 30 minutes. The only thing we had to do was try and kill the ants!! I’m currently raising the concern with my bank to hopefully get the money returned, as I am now short of £200 a least and had to go out of my way to book elsewhere that night and spend more money as the place was definitely not sanitary enough for us to stay the night considering there was flying ants everywhere!

I has some issues with cleanliness e.g. the bedding was smelly and I had to wash it myself, the teapot was mouldy and a pan was burnt. Although the landlord dealt with some of these issues, I had no apology or compensation for the smelly sheets. I found the landlord who came around rather intimidating and defensive.

It was a good location especially for a solo traveller. It was well set up and had the necessary facilities. It was in a quiet setting.

Very smelly, a really bad odur in the house, linen was smelly, towels hadn't been dried properly, so they absolutely stank like urine. There Wasnt enough towels either. The place is absolutely filthy, so much dust and facilities and decor well out of date Would not recommend this place tonanyone unless major changes are made

- The host came across as rude. - Tv in lounge was not working - The cottage was not clean. Dust on bedside tables, mold in shower. - Host accused us of smoking in the shower we don't even smoke we vape. - Took 8 days to return my deposit despite it stating 3 to 4 working days. Overall the host was rude and arrogant.
