Needed another comfy chair in living area, extra plates and glasses especially a pint glass, and have constant beeping on oven fixed as drove us mad when cooking, plates without silver edge so can be used in microwave.

Close to pub, near various locations, clean, well presented and most of whats needed home from home.

There was only 3 of us. Seating possibly would be tight if 4 adults. Light at back of property could do with coming on when at top of steps rather than descending them. WiFi name could do with being in the folder along with the password which is. We found it easy enough on the back of the router though.

Very sweet note & milk & treats for us left by hosts. Gorgeous interior design. Very comfortable cottage. Everything we could possibly have needed even for a longer stay. Bere Alston very well located in the area & well served by amenities ie 3 grocery stores. Handy for Tavistock, Dartmoor & direct train to Plymouth. Hosts had provided plenty of information on where to explore locally & good resturant / pub recommendations - 2 of which we visited. Despite main access via the back door with steep steps from parking, one can park for a few mins at the front door at pavement level. This really helped for loading to leave the property. Plenty of parking as in addition to the parking spot for the cottage, just behind the property is a free car park which was very handy as we had 2 vehicles.

Main steps into the property are very steep. Although there is another entrance at the front where you can park for a few minutes.

Accommodation was immaculately clean and comfortable Excellent directions and friendly communication from owners.

The steps to the garden were a struggle for my short legged basset to keep going up and down. Need to take a photo so people realise how steep they are. Also there are foxgloves in the garden which are highly dangerous for dogs, so it was a bit of a worry letting the dog roam there. Instead of the chocolate, maybe a half loaf and butter would be better as we had to go out after a long journey for these. The living room lights are not v. Bright so hard if reading or crafting in the evenings on the eyes. The rack hanging on the bathroom door was a pain as it was hard to shut the toilet door. I ended up taking it off. Maybe pop one on the wall or have one screwed to the back of the door? Also if you want a takeaway delivery you have no chance here as no one delivers. The local amenities were not amazing as the local shop seemed to always be shut when we went in the evenings and the coop is v. Small, and the chip shop was absolutely terrible. The local pub does not serve food either. Make sure if you do choose this place you stock up. Beware of the oven as well as the beeping on it is highly annoying as it is constant, needs to be sorted. The fridge also was freezing stuff, so may need to be turned up a little in temperature. It was not quiet and certainly not semi detached as described in the advert. It was a row of terrace type houses. We could hear the traffic and there was a lot of traffic going past on the road especially in the evenings and very early mornings (I was up at 5.30am and there were cars and lorries going past then). I know my husband woke up quite a bit due to this. Internet signal is also non existent in the area. We did have WiFi at the house but I did struggle in the evenings. Could possibly do with a TV in the bedroom? Also no info about the bins and these were full when we got there.

It was clean, comfortable and we liked the fact there was milk and the chocolate was a nice touch. Also there was tea, coffee and sugar. It was near some towns (15 mins closest one). We could get to Newquay in Cornwall in over an hour. The washing machine and dishwasher were great additions and I liked the fact we had all the cleaning amenities we needed there so saved us bringing them. Bed was comfy with plenty of pillows and plenty of warderobe space. In the bathroom, there were plenty of towels, toilet rolls and soaps. The bath was nice and spacious and shower was good. . Garden was lovely and the dog did like it as it had plenty to sniff and was enclosed so wasn't worried he would disappear. Parking was good and close as well.
