Hamperley Farm Holiday Barn is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the hosts, who clearly put so much love and care into creating a truly special retreat. The barn itself is full of authentic charm, with its cosy interior and thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. Set amidst stunning countryside, the surroundings offer a peaceful escape, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature, it’s the perfect spot. We can’t wait to return!

Everything we needed was there with little treats. There was lots of information about the area including walk books. Kirsty and Chris were really friendly and helpful. It was lovely to be able to walk from the door. The area is beautiful, we loved Ludlow castle and the path by the river and there is plenty more to do if we go back.

There was nothing I couldn’t have liked!

It’s Barn/Rustic feel! Hay Bails and Tractors around which added to the aesthetic of the Stay. It was so peaceful, overlooking the beautiful Shropshire Hills! Inside it was very Cosy and really luxurious, facilities were fantastic.

    Nothing!

Spent a couple of nights here to walk the Long Mynd and explore the area. Kirsty and Chris were very welcoming when I met them on the second day. They had provided a hamper of goodies too, which was a wonderful bonus! Very relaxing, with a VERY COMFY bed. Loads of amenities, including a utility room for muddy and wet gear to dry out in! The bathroom has underfloor heating, which feels very luxurious. Car parking is well thought out, so you're out of the way of the farm vehicles. Very friendly cats!

Our only comment to each other was that the basin in the bathroom could have done with being a bit bigger but other than that it more than met our expectations 😊

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well appointed to a high standard. It was warm & cosy which considering it rained a lot of the time made it a wonderful bolt hole for my husband and I. The farmer, Chris, was very warm & friendly and even helped my husband fill up our car’s windscreen washer reservoir and kindly gave us some windscreen wash. It was lovely to come back each day to a warm, cosy space when it was cold & wet outside. We would have no hesitation in recommending Alf’s Bull Pen to anyone wanting to explore the area around Church Stretton.

We couldn’t fault it at all.

What can we say! We could not fault our stay here at all. From the moment we arrived we instantly felt relaxed and taken care of! The holiday cottage is a beautifully (and cleverly) renovated farm building, completed to a very high standard, with lots of little extra touches from the thoughtful hosts to make your stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. The farm is set a few miles outside Church Stretton, which we found to have lots of decent amenities, places to eat etc (we recommend the Jaipur Indian and the Sawaddee Thai restaurants). There are countless walks and mountain bike trails accessible from the farm, as well as the likes of Iron Bridge - a 30 min drive away. The hosts, Chris & Kirsty, are genuinely lovely people, and were always available if we needed anything. They really have created a little paradise here, where you can escape from the world for a while - we can’t wait to visit again!

Some shelves and hooks were very high up - quite a stretch for little people like me. But not a real problem.

Did our own food but there were cornflakes and milk in the courtesy hamper, which was nice, and a little bottle of wine! Thank you. Kitchen was nicely equipped and we cooked our own supper very satisfactorily. Our stay was very wet (storm Babet) so we were glad to be able to tuck up warm and be out of the rain.
