Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only complaint is that there is no air outlet. During the night, I felt suffocated because there is no window to open. It was a horrible feeling of lack of air.
Clean and organized apartment, great location 🤩

United KingdomOnly thing I struggled with was the heating. It was great it worked but it worked too well, it was on the entire stay and the adjuster on the radiator didn't make a difference. It was hot hot even on the snowflake setting. I had to keep cooling the room by propping the window open. This was particularly an issue at night on Saturday because it meant it was too loud from the seafront clubs. I shut the window and put up with being too hot.
Check in was easy, the room was clean and had a great view. It was small but not a bad thing, it was perfect for what I needed it for. The WiFi was good and stable. Everything was fully stocked. The location was great and worth the money on its own.

United KingdomThe shower had black mould on the roof, which is really uncool. Windows had a heap of condensation so couldn't see the seaview and probably why there's mould as there is not a lot of ventilation unless you open the window where it's super windy. Stairs were pokey and there was a weird weed smell everywhere at the entrance. No staff at 6pm either??
So ole check-in, good size room, nice bed and chairs and fridge was handy, as were the power sockets as I needed a lot.

Very good location. Close to the beach, 5 minutes away from the pier and 10 minutes from the city center. Great pubs in the area. Room was recently renovated and very clean.

Costa RicaIt is a bit outdated and single glazed windows do not stop the noise from the street. I think it is not a big problem though but for others it can be an issue.
Great location, fair price especially if you plan to only sleep at the hotel, fridge and kettle in the room helps to make it even more economical. Clean.

United KingdomI was a bit dubious about the keylock stuff but once we got in it was all quite easy actually.
Lovely and clean. The cleaner was only just finishing our room when we got there and she'd done a lovely job, super friendly. Nice location, tea coffee, milk and water, even a fridge and a fan. Very well catered for. My kids loved the room, spacious and we could spread out.

United KingdomThere was hair stuck on the bathroom wall and under the bed cover. The windows were old and made banging noise when the wind blew so I had to put folded paper into the gaps so we could get some sleep. Took me a bit of time to figure out how to use the sockets - extensions were used to provide different points for the kettle, night lights, phone charger, etc... Not sure if this is a place I will revisit.
Amazing view - day or night you can enjoy the fabulous scenery of the Brighton Pier Palace and the waves crushing the pebble beach. The location was good to access the beach and all entertaining places. Staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. Interior renovated and the furniture was new and well presented, the heating was on in the hallway when the weather went bad. There was also a gigantic fan in the room which would have been bonus if the weather was better.

United KingdomThe inability to open the windows resulted in a stuffy room, which we attempted to mitigate by keeping the bathroom ventilation on. Additionally, the thin walls made it difficult to avoid hearing noise from neighbouring rooms, especially those on the same floor and above. We also encountered some security concerns. Late at night, we observed individuals wandering around the entrance without apparent authorisation, attempting to follow us into the hotel. While they eventually managed to enter a room, it was disconcerting to see such lax security measures.
Our stay at this hotel was all right, We would recommend this hotel for its comfortable beds, helpful staff, and convenient location.

United KingdomI booked a family room. Myself and 2 children. I Had to walk up 3 flights of stairs practically into the attic with luggage a buggy and child. Which was very difficult on my own. One set of stairs was very narrow. No parking at the property means the Nearest car park was a good 10 minute walk, to the property up hill with luggage. Lovely property. But not for families with young children and buggies.
Property was lovely and clean. Great location, close to shops, restaurants and the pier.
