I wasn't told about the £5 car park charge. I didn't mind paying that but wasn't told there would be a cost until that morning. They also asked for £100 bond on my card which was fully refunded when I checked out, but I wasn't made aware of before I arrived.

Very friendly staff. Cheap and clean room. Basic but functional. Comfy clean bed and no noise from the other rooms.

Noise from upstairs room(s) would put me off staying here again. Also the bath wasn’t really clean. We already knew that there were no breakfast facilities which are being refurbished so that was fair enough.

Convenient spot. Comfortable and clean bed. Plenty of hot water. Warm room without being roasting hot. Parking arrangement worked fine.

I have previously worked at this hotel more than 20 years ago and not much has changed in terms of the decoration or furniture (bathroom suite included). The hotel is also in the middle of renovations so some areas aren't great to look at. There also used to be a Cafe Bar which has either been removed or is currently in the middle of being renovated, so didn't manage to get a drink on an evening.

The hotel is in a great location being just yards away from the train station and a little further away is Halifax's brand new bus station. The hotel is also very quiet and the staff are friendly. The Smart TV includes all of the usual free channels as well as a wide range of free movies. There also seemed to be paid options for better, more recent movies. A great selection of coffee and Yorkshire Tea was available along with some good quality biscuits. The bed was really comfortable and the room was nice and warm. Heating can be adjusted on the radiator or windows can be opened if it's too hot.

Sealant around shower taps looked an eyesore, wires hanging from the room ceiling, hairs all over the bed when we got there,

No breakfast at the moment, but that's being sorted. Bed has springs you could feel, so a topper would be nice. Otherwise fine.

Great location, opposite the railway station. Lovely building that's being refurbished, but making every effort to be accommodating. It will be perfect when it's finished.

Unfortunately there was no food of any type available. The bar was closed for the whole of our stay. Vending machines with snacks and drinks would have been good.

The hotels location is excellent for Piece Hall. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Well it was still being renovated but we knew that anyway so no real issue and the room was lovely

We were so lucky to find this hotel particularly as our booked accommodation was cancelled by the hosts on the day of our stay. It was still being renovated so no bar or restaurant but will be lovely when complete. Excellent location right next to the Piece Hall with discounted parking across the street and close to bars and restaurants

Bar was being refitted, decent sized room but low cost fixtures and fittings.. looks like they are trying to give the place a face lift so new reception but hey my bath panel had been shoved back in a hurry...

Room was ok although clearly mid refit... location is great for the town centre and friendly, efficient staff...

Lack of bar n breakfast during the refurbishment

Staff welcoming and helpful. The room was clean. a little tired but we understand the hotel is being refurbished. The room facilities with kettle and plenty of tea/ coffee / biscuits. Comfortable bed with an excellent nights sleep.
