To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomTried lots of times to ring reception and report water fault but no reply - had to go down in lift.
Very pleasant check in lady said upgraded us to room 911. Soon realised that cold water replaced by very hot water in bath and sink therefore could not shower or drink the water. Informed front desk when going to appt and checked when returned front desk said repaired but was not. Still the same problem. Engineer came temporary repair only. Not good enough for cost of the room.

Stayed for 4 nights in a one-bedroom on the 6th floor. It is close to the nearest subway station, just a 5-minute walk away, making it convenient for shopping and dining. Both the area around the hotel and inside the building are relatively quiet and calm. The common areas and rooms, including the hotel lobby, were clean.

United KingdomThe room was a bit shabby, definitely could do with redecoration. The wall paper in one place was pealing apart. The toilet pan was badly cracked in two places.
The Hotels location is excellent for the Royal Albert Hall, we always stay there if we have tickets for a concert. The breakfast was fine, I only had a Coffee and some toast. But there was plenty of other things to have and it all looked nicely presented. A very comfortable bed, had the best nights sleep for a long while.

IrelandThe hygiene was not what was expected, on entering en-suite bathroom there was a smell of stale urine which was unacceptable. Obviously this bathroom requires refurbishment. Fortunately we had not paid for breakfast as the only day we decided to have it was on Sunday morning last. It was probably the worst breakfast experience we have ever had - the food was cold, we had to ask for table to be cleaned and I have never seen teacups WITHOUT saucers in any establishment ever!
