Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom sadly was extremely dated which was disappointing. Had a shower curtain and a very rusted shower head. Also the toilet flush was coming away from the wall.
Great location with a lovely room overlooking the water. Easy 10 minute into the city centre.

United KingdomI love the hotel and would stay there again but i don’t think the services were great. For example when i wanted water while in my room, I was told to come downstairs to get water myself. I don’t think that’s good customer service. Asides staff wanting you to do stuff yourself. It’s a good place to visit or stay.
Nice comfy bed with pillows, Amazing view from my room. In General, a really good environment.

United KingdomPlenty of choice but bacon, eggs, black pudding were all overcooked. Consistency of leather. Let down the rest of the hotel. Would not choose this option again.

United KingdomFirst time in Newcastle . Wasn’t prepared for the steep hills or steps. If you have poor mobility it would be an issue stating there. Stayed in a club room , lovely and spacious, bathroom a little tired also the cold water tap wouldn’t turn on but not a major issue as used the shower. The river view was obscured a little due to the canopy of the building it looked like scaffolding outside the window .
On-site parking . Location of hotel on the river .

United KingdomBooked an executive suite, however whilst the room was large with a good view of the river, the room did not meet our expectations of an executive suite. The side window in the bedroom had a view of the delivery area and bins. The furniture and decor were extremely dated, mis- matched and in need of a refurbishment. Stains on bedframe and curtains. Bathroom had a fabric shower curtain, tiles and bath panel dated. Skirting boards throughout the room needed repaired. The worst thing was the smell when you exited the bedroom and walked down the corridor to the lift, it was like a dirty water, sewerage type of smell, we did mention this to the receptionist and they said they would investigate it, however the smell was present throughout our visit.
Clean, welcoming staff, parking, great location. Comfortable bed, iron and ironing board in room, good view from patio doors.

United KingdomNothing- thank you.
Very central location, easy to walk around Newcastle and along the river from there. Good to be able to access both from the front and back of the hotel. The member of staff, Nicholas, who sorted out our issue with car parking went above and beyond what we would expect or hope for - thank you so much. He was so kind and considerate. Two different young ladies on reception were also very helpful when asking about what to do etc. Had not realised it was the Great North Run weekend when we booked but it enhanced rather than detracted from our visit.

United KingdomThe room has a lot of space and gorgeous view was pretty tired and dirty in places. It was OK but for the money I expected a bit more of a clean modern room. Eg mould on the ceiling, dirty bath panel, holes in the tiles filled with pollyfiller, rusty vent by the toilet, wardrobe doors didn't fit together easily. I also didnt like the amount of single use items.....salt, pepper, sauces, coffee, sugar, milk etc. It took 1x coffee sachet, 3x sugar (equivalent to 1tsp) and 3x milk to make one drink. Would much prefer a glass bottle of milk in the fridge and salt and pepper shakers on the table for example. Also, the amount of signs and warnings to read in the room were excessive. As an adult, I know how to use a shower curtain and that wet floors are dangerous
I thought all the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location was good and room was spacious and quiet
