Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe problem with the rooms at that side of the hotel they were prone to a lots of noise from the railway near by. We were also given a drinks voucher which wasn't explained clearly as you couldn't have most of the drinks that were on offer.
The room was very nice

United Kingdom£130 for a twin room for a single night in Newcastle seemed expensive to me.
Easy & friendly check in, great location - especially for a night out at The Glasshouse/Sage centre or by the river side. The room was big and well equipped (iron, sofas, twin beds etc). Bar was good and plenty of seating inside and outside. All in all very impressed and will most likely stay again.

United KingdomNo room service, which was very disappointing as it stated so on their website, on the tv in the room, and there was also a menu in the room. I even checked with the chat bot on their website, one of the reasons I booked, was for room service. I didn't want to leave the room, so had to make do with the few snacks I bought. Windows could do with some soundproofing as near the metro and train bridges and you can hear them even with the window closed.
I booked here to spend two nights away from everything after a rough year. I had a club suite, which was a nice size, and had a mini fridge and lovely view. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in in a hotel, like sleeping on a cloud. The addition of different firmness of pillows helped for a better nights sleep as well. Breakfast had a good variety, full English, continental, cereals, porridge (which was lovely and creamy) and pancakes made fresh. Only managed one morning during my stay, but it was well worth it.

United KingdomHave stayed before, so was aware of the noise of the metro passing over the bridge. The buffet breakfast could have been warmer.
Excellent view over the river, nice big room, comfortable bed plus good shower. The room had all I required.

United KingdomThe bathroom was very dated. The air conditioning was no good, even when on the lowest temperature. The room was so hot, even with the fan on. We definitely would not have rated this as a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was basic.
We were on the 5th floor, which gave a great view of the River Tyne from our Room. The hotel is in a good location. the bed was comfortable. We paid £136.80 for one night, this included breakfast. The staff were really pleasant and friendly.

United KingdomThe hotel is not new, so many items in the room and bathroom were a bit dated. We could benefit the second blanket. There was confusion around check-in time: 14:00 on booking.com, 15:00 on the pre-check-in form (earliest option in the drop-down), 16:00 at the hotel.
The room size and the river view were amazing!

United KingdomThe only negatives were spider cobwebs on window the (right side), and the toothpaste on the mirror stil from flossing from the previous guest . The receptionist (slim male)on Sat was very welcoming, explained us everything, but on Sat when we were leaving the lady was very cold..took the key even didn't say goodbye or asked how was our stay (the lobby was empty)The only thing upsetting was the TRAINs that are running every15min above you or precisely on the left and right if your room has a view on the river. If you want to sleep earlier &you don't tolerate noise then you need the earplugs.Funny was that I written prior to our stay :we would like to have a quiet room.
It was a very convenient location near Arena 2min by car and 10min walking,18min to shopping centre. The hotel from outside is not what you would expect from 4* but it was clean.Bed nicely done, sheets changed,I was glad the pillows were more flat then chunky, shower clean. The hair dryer was in first drawer. The iron&board available.
