Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBathroom was way too small. Had to pay for towels. No alcohol in the rooms…but I did anyways. LOL😉
Friendly staff. Loved the black coffee and pastries. Quiet and peaceful at night. Very comfortable beds, pillows and comforter. Very secure with keyless doors.

South KoreaIf I attach some complaint, it would be the plug-in space. There was only for 2 USB code. So someone needed to exploit the socket infront of the mirror.
Whoever could deny this hostel's strength! The price was affordable for everyone. Here was located at the center, so it was easy to check in at night and check out. The bathroom was furnished some cleaner and hair dry if you require to reception. I used to stay in capsule hotel many times, that's why I could compare with others. My opinion is that it was a 5-star experience that can be contrasted. Turning to the conclusion, everything, even if sleep and sheet condition and else adopt, was pretty nice.

United StatesAs a 71 year old, I found the pod difficult to use. I don't have the needed flexibility to turn around inside the pod, to easily enter and exit. But other than it, it was very comfortable. It would be excellent for a younger or more flexible person! It's not for the claustrophobic though.
The location is fabulous. The hostel is spotless and staff is helpful. It is well designed and maintained. The pods have great amenities (lighting, shelf, USB charging port, black-out curtain) and provide more privacy than normal hostels.

FinlandIt can be a bit tricky to get to the upper pod as stairs are really on the side but that's an issue only for sucky climbers like I am.
Location is awesome! People, atmosphere, staff members - the best hostel I've stayed at (and I'm not a hostel type of person, if I'm being honest). Clean, nice, all processes are smooth, internet is great. I would stay there again. Unexpectedly making new friends was just an added bonus;)

United StatesNothing of significance.
The Hostel: I stayed in the “courtroom” and despite having upwards of 30 beds, it was spacious, welcoming, functional, clean and quiet. Each bunk is equipped with a privacy curtain, charging station (USB connections only) and a large electronic locker for your valuables — locks use a numerical code to open/lock. There's plenty of space in the room for oversized luggage. WiFi network, shower and water pressure all worked great. Common areas offer cozy vibes with plenty of seating and whisky/beer tastings. The Stay: The bed was comfortable and the dorm is well designed. CoDE is situated in a very safe and secure neighborhood. The hostel is gated with entry codes provided to guests for access control. Its prime location emerged as the standout feature. Conveniently located and a short distance to most attractions (100 Airport Link is a brief walk away). The Service: The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They were always available to answer questions and offer tour recommendations. Towels are provided free of charge and the breakfast was great. Social activities held on-site regularly. 10/10 would recommend!

United StatesWe had to store our luggage for the Skye tour and the POD does not offer storage once you have checked out. We had to use an app to find another hostel that offered luggage storage. We got to see another option for hosteling, and I think we all felt lucky to have picked the POD.
As a 63 YO female traveling with friends, none of us had never stayed at a hostel before. The POD was right in front of our tour company's pick-up point for our 4 day trip to Skye, so we booked it. 5 of us in one of the 8 pod private rooms. We had just completed 4 days at the Marriot in Edinburgh as well as 5 day self-drive tour staying in various AirBNBs as well as one night in Sterling Highlands Hotel. None of us knew what to expect of the POD and really enjoyed the unique (to us) experience of hanging in the bar and common areas and making our breakfast in the morning in the communal kitchen. Staff was great. Bathrooms were immaculate. Bedding was pristine and comfortable. The theme was cool. Never been to jail, so it was a first for me. Convenience was great.

AustraliaThe corridors were a little dark. making it a difficult for a slightly vision impaired person as myself to key the entry codes in. But that was all part of the atmosphere .
It was 1st time for me staying in this type of accommodation and I was surprised by the pleasant atmosphere. The pod was comfortable and I felt secure. I wish I had discovered this type of accommodation when I was younger. The other guests were respectful and considerate. Making it an enjoyable experience.

United KingdomMaybe a little busy/noisy on a bank holiday weekend but that can’t be helped * I would maybe book a smaller dorm the next time.

United KingdomI expected a little bit of noise with it being a hostel so I booked the smallest dorm available (at time of booking, 8 person) but it was particularly noisy with people running up and down corridors shouting and screaming at midnight.
Quirky. Washroom facilities were new, modern, clean. Pod was perfect for privacy. Lockers well thought out idea not requiring coins. Coffee/ Breakfast available from 0700hrs. Shared kitchen was nice in the morning. Great location.
