Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Perfect getaway the cottage was in a quiet location despite being in central Bath with all the sights and amenities conveniently close by. The characterful cottage is well designed and provides everything you need on holiday with welcome touches like tea, milk, flowers - we will be back!

United Statesthe only things I would say could use improvement was 1) the bed mattress was a little too soft and 2) really could use a ceiling fan or at least 1 more additional fan in the house. it did get pretty warm in there during the day. leaving windows open helped cool it down but that allowed flys to get in.
Really liked the historic feeling of the place yet well upgraded to have all the modern needed. Loved having a full kitchen even though we did not use it. The place overall was just very charming and welcoming. The owner was excellent to work with with great communications.

United KingdomNothing bad to share - was a perfect experience!
The location of the cottage was excellent, right in the city centre and literally minutes away from all the attractions. Brenda was an incredible host with fantastic local suggestions which really made our trip! The cottage is modern, clean and really cosy. Parking at Charlotte street is minutes away and ideal for a trouble free stay if driving in. Would massively recommend this cottage for a lovely time in bath!

United StatesWe liked everything.
After the short walk up to the cottage from the train station, we'd followed the instructions to get the key to let ourselves in to the property and from the moment we opened the door, we knew we'd lucked in to something very special. The cottage is on two floors - the entry, bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor, with the living room, dining nook and kitchen upstairs. After unpacking, we checked out the bathroom - recently renovated, with a large tub/shower, nice linens, etc. - and then headed upstairs. The living area sported a nice (and very large) leather sofa (the perfect platform for two to sit and watch the wall-mounted TV), beamed ceilings, plenty of lighting, etc., and, to the left, we noted the built-in banquette seating/dining table and the entry into the kitchen. Also recently remodeled, the kitchen included a large refrigerator, an induction stove/oven, a large sink/prep area and cupboards containing all of the dishes, cookware, utensils, cutlery and other kitchen basics (nice knives and cutting boards, too). Upon seeing that we had a real kitchen to work in, we soon headed out to several places to grab groceries - all just a few blocks away - we'd use for the several meals we'd prepare during the week we stayed there. All of the comforts of home. The location is almost perfect - the Royal Bath Theatre is just a block or two away, there's a good indie coffee place next door and several others within a few-block radius and, a whole host of dining options of every type less than 10 minutes walk from the cottage. The owner was always handy and incredibly friendly, too. For two people, I can't imagine anything better in Bath! Please note - if you have any difficulty with stairs, this would be the only reason to think twice before renting this property as the stairs are steep and somewhat narrow.

CanadaThe accommodation’s square footage had been well thought out, with comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Location was ideal for us…easy walk to everything we needed, while on a quiet street. We did purchase a night light to ease those night time walk abouts.

United KingdomOnly issue is the parking but that's not the fault of the property. We parked at Charlotte Street car park (8 min walk away) which was easy to find.
We really enjoyed our stay - great location as everything was under 10 minute walk away (Roman Baths 5 mins away) so we could always pop back to the flat every now and then. Flat was very clean and furnishings were great. Comfy bed reallt made our sleep great. I can't say anything more without saying everything was great as it was 😄

AustraliaPretty hard to put anything in here but the couch was a bit slippery, and the outside noise particularly the seagulls(spring is in the air) certainly out of the host's control.
The Cottage met all our expectations. It was VERY close to town and all the attractions. It was very easy to communicate with our host who replied to any queries within a hour. Great eating locations, supermarkets and a great coffee location within 5 minutes walk. Mid way through our stay we had cleaners in who spruced the cottage up including fresh towels and sheets.

CanadaGreat location, cute small home, bright and airy, clean and well decorated. Brenda was so kind and responsive. Only possible thing it was missing was a washing machine, but we knew that in advance! We didn’t find the hair dryer until the last morning of our stay - it’s in the bedside table if you’re looking! We parked at the Charlotte St Long Stay Carpark and it was a short walk away. Highly recommended - an absolute highlight of our trip :)
