Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Netherlandsthe room is bit smaller, the door is so close to the bunk, the locker is small, couldnt fit my cabin suitcase. a bit dusty next to the locker, found 2 big spiders in the room 🫣

Location was great. Walking distance from Kings Cross station. Great connectivity to the major parts of London. Space was very limited but it is understandable for any place in London.

United KingdomVery basic shared toilet and shower facilities. You may have to wait at pick times or go to a different floor. Lockers could be bigger.
Great location, near Kings Cross with great links to explore London. It's more appreciated for convenience rather than comfort. Adequate breakfast and facilities. Value for money.

United KingdomThe mattress was so thin and uncomfortable, ok for a one to two night stay but wouldn’t stay here longer. Not a lot of space in the room for luggage. The room I had had no windows but a skylight so lighting was fine but ventilation in the room could have been better, a bit stuffy.
Great location and the bunk bed set up is great in that it’s almost like little pods. Good value for money, it’s basic and cheap and that can be hard to find in London.

SwedenMostly the bathrooms and showers were recently cleaned, but unfortunately I had some bad encounters despite the staff keeping a high standard.
Rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. Also really nice system for keeping the fridges clean in common area.

GermanyUnfortunately the room had a fairly loud ventilator in it. Certainly necessary to ventilate a room with several people sleeping in it, but I it would have been great if they could use a less loud option.
The staff was very kind and helpful! I opted for a shared room with bunkbeds and the facilities were absolutely correct, clean and comfortable.

United StatesThe room for 4 beds I stayed in was very small, no curtains for the beds which is always nice for privacy, the check in time is kind of late if you have an early flight or train.
Close to the train station, underground (metro) and buses, comfy beds, good breakfast for the price, good size lockers if you have a carry on and a backpack; friendly receptionists, lift/elevator available.

AustraliaThe late check in was not ideal, and the room was very small.
Very cheap, and the staff were friendly - let me use some facilities before check-in. Baggage storage was also a big plus, and the hostel had a huge kitchen. I like that the beds had multiple charging options and personal light.

ChileThe beds don't have curtains so there is not much privacy and the lavatory in the bathroom is very small. But for the price it is very good.
The place is very close to king Cross and it's easy to find. The bus stop is next to it. The room was ok, everything seemed clean and the personnel were nice and helpful, they store your backpack for free before check-in.

United KingdomThe furniture in the common areas and the mattress in the room is really uncomfy, so not very inviting to spend time on either. The lounge room is in the basement so just not really a nice place to hang out and meet people
Common areas are available which is good, a the kitchen is well equipped, shower rooms weren’t too busy and always clean

NetherlandsIt’s warm within the whole building. The room with the pod beds were kinda sweaty (by smell and feeling) with very dry air, because of poor air ventilation. There is a loud fan that’s on 24/7, so bring your earplugs.
Close to London St. Pancras and supermarket next door. Nice pod beds.

IrelandNo curtains for privacy. Unless you book a Pod. Sinks and showers could do with alternating. But manageable.
I’m not someone that likes to complain about places, So maybe next time I will try the Pods and I will be able to give a better review. Thanks either way for having me. 👍

United KingdomOnly 3 showers for women (that I could find), and you couldn't use one of them because the lights weren't working. And with teenage girls taking a notoriously long time in the shower, I had to wait for a long time, and then the water was only luke-warm... Luckily it was a hot night! Also hardly any toilets, and very tiny 4-bed dorm. I had requested a bottom bunk for medical reasons, but they forgot about it - however, they gave me a free breakfast instead. I checked in at about 11.30 pm after an international flight, and was exhausted, but the person in front of me at reception was buying a snack or something, and was there for ages. They do need to prioritise new arrivals!
Good breakfast! And slept very well despite the heatwave. There was a small desk fan on the windowsill. They also do luggage storage, and there is a lift, which is handy with heavy bags.
