Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomQuite dirty, the aircon is very poor. The bedside ventilation is very noisy so you can’t keep it on throughout the night. The dorm door is very loud, you will wake up every time someone enters or exits the room. The price is my opinion is not justified but since it’s London everything it’s to be expected.
The only good thing about this place is the location, very close to St Pancras and Kings Cross, and the reception staff, very likeable and friendly.

United KingdomBeds end-on to the wall, with solid board partitions between and a 'ladder' across much of the outer end, made it rather awkward to set up and to get in and out. And those partitions are the only privacy in a mixed dorm, no bunk curtains, which may not suit all travellers.
Very good location for an early train from St. Pancras, and plenty of food options in the area, plus the canal for an evening wander. Room entry by combination keypad rather than keycard, avoids the dilemma of remembering the key! Looks like there's a good programme of evening socials through the week, for those whose plans are flexible to fit.

United Kingdom4-bed dorm is very tight, barely any room to move around. You can't pull out and open your locker unless the floor is clear and nobody is standing in the area, very hard with 4 people around.
Communal areas and bathrooms are very spacious and modern

ItalyThe first major point that should be improved is that some curtains should be installed in the dorm rooms to give some privacy to people sleeping, so that you can get back to your room without flashing light in everyone's eyes. Most hostels have these curtains nowadays. The "girls bathroom" was ok, but unfortunately not all guests are always very respectful (the person that showered before me forgot to clean and remove her hair from the floor/walls, maybe she didn't know she was supposed to do this...). It was hard to have any hot water from the shower - after waiting for several minutes with the water running, it was only slightly warm. The (only) sink is way too small. You can barely brush your teeth there, and it's hard to wash your hands without spilling water on the floor. My boyfriend said that the "boys bathroom" was quite dirty and smelly. I understand that this doesn't depend only on the hostel, but also on the guests, but maybe deep cleaning the bathrooms more often could help. Overall, it was ok to spend one night here, but I would not spend more time here (except maybe in a private room with private bathroom, I don't know if they exist though).
The hostel is located 5 min away from St. Pancras/King's Cross train station, which is very convenient to travel by train and also since there are several underground lines that stop nearby and allow you to move around easily in the city. There is a large kitchen with all the necessary things to cook, as well as some salt/pepper/different spices, which was nice. The common areas were as clean as they could be (but unfortunately it really depends on how respectful the other guests are...). We spent one night here before catching the train back home, and it was ok. We saw there almost every day there was some kind of activity organised by the hostel, which is also nice if you want to meet people and if you stay for longer.

AustraliaThe charging ports on the beds aren't powerful, it took about 3 days for it to recharge my portable charger. Still charged the phones okay though.
The breakfast was delicious, great variety. The hostel is in a really good location near Kings Cross station, making it really easy and convenient to get anywhere. The room was a little noisy being next to the road, but a pair of good ear plugs do the trick. We did a free bike tour through the hostel with Adam which was a really great way to see the city!

MalaysiaThe spaces to store your stuff is limited. So people end up putting their suitcase in the commom area which makes it look messy.

United KingdomI accidentally used the wrong locker and while I was out they cut my padlock off and left my stuff that had been in the locker out in the room for anyone to access. I understand it belonged to another bed in the hostel room who wanted to use the locker but to leave my belongings out in the room instead of keeping them at reception for my return I found unprofessional and unsafe.
Pods have everything you need and the location right close to King’s Cross is perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomProvide more hooks or shelves in each bathroom so we can hang our clothes or place shower gels, etc.
1. Quietness and a good place to simply sleep after a hard day work in London. 2. I also like the iron drawers under the bed, they let you store your laptop in safety (but bring your own padlock). 3. The kitchen at the basement is good place to work and socialise.

United KingdomRooms a bit cramped. Lots of traffic noise- I don't think the windows are double glazed so I had a really broken nights sleep. Breakfast was ok- cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, salad, but NO BUTTER just vegan spread which limited my options which was disappointing. Only given one pillow. Locker quite small, couldn't fit my rucksack it in so be prepared.
Staff really helpful. Close to Kings Cross. Can leave your bags. Kitchen facilities good. Reception had stuff for sale, there's a Co-op next door. Cleaning going on all the time. Good value for money if you take earplugs.
