Room was run down, carpet fraying or completely bald in areas, bathroom a bit smelly and needed a paint job. Wasn't worth the money in that respect but was the cheapest in Clifton so got what we expected. Wasn't dreadful but not amazing.

Location was great, the bar and restaurant were lovely. Really good atmosphere and had a delicious meal. Staff were friendly in the hotel.

I couldn't get the television to work but that may have be my own failing and didn't affect my stay at all. The sink was cracked and there was dust, chipped paint and some foodstuffs down the side of the bed.

Friendly, and helpful staff , good location, nicely appointed room.

I had a small single room which was fine for my needs, but it was on the top floor and the window was very small and it got very hot. There was something which resembled an air conditioner there but didn't seem to be in working order. That's why I haven't given the place the highest score for comfort - the heat made it difficult to sleep.

It was great value for money in such a central location. The parking fee was also reasonable enough, and I liked the breakfast options (not included in the room rate though).

A little hard to find (the signs are small), and the parking garage can't be accessed without a fob from reception, with very limited (and not free) street parking nearby.

Lovely hotel with extremely friendly, helpful staff. Quiet (I was there mid-week, might be different at weekends), pleasant location, good breakfast options, nice room. Very handy for Clifton Village.

The bathroom, in particular the shower, was not the cleanest. However, I did appreciate the amenities within the room.

Staff all appeared very friendly and accommodating. It was great to have the bar and restaurant attached with easy access.

The hotel is in need of a makeover, but for the price it's acceptable, although we stayed on a Sunday. I'm not sure the room would be worth the price of a Saturday night stay.

Staff are all lovely. Hotel is in a good location for Clifton and Bristol City centre.

The bathroom could have done with a bit of upgrade as the skirting board had flake of paint coming off and the back of the bathroom door had cracks. The light above the sink did not work. Separately, while the bed seems absolutely clean, the sheet had a couple of faint yellow stains. I did not say anything on the night as I came back late. It would be helpful to make 2 things clear for first time visitors: 1. The hotel name is displayed as cafe and not Hotel Clifton from the road; second that the parking is on first come first serve and that you have to pay for It (I may have missed that information but it was unclear to me when I booked).

Perfect location; very comfortable bed; excellent to have snacks and hot drinks in the room; The staff was really helpful

Thin wall meant I could hear the guy next door on the phone to his girlfriend/wife and that was a bit graphic. Shower was 2ft sq so hardly any room to move in it. Parking tricky to find though actually quite close. Breakfast on weekend started too late.

The room was far too hot and the window couldn't be opened. The double bed was the smallest one I have ever seen. We had to get up in the early hours to take the quilt out of the cover, as it was too hot.

Good service in the hotel and the restaurant downstairs. Good facilities in the room.
