It was a friendly family hotel, very clean, very nice people, I saw them being super flexible and friendly with everyone staying, I was there for a big running race and they really looked after people even though the hotel was full.

Think the room curtains need updating to keep in line with the modern room and towels were a bit worn but didn’t effect the stay.

Hotel is expensive for how basic it is

We were late arriving but were received with a smile. The room was basic but comfortable. The breakfast was good quality with both vegetarian and vegan options. The car park is tiny but there is lots of parking near by

Although the room is nice, it’s a little small however it wasn’t a big problem for us.

The hotel room feels so warm and homely. Everything is super clean and cosy. We had a nice room with sea view. Breakfast was of course included and it was made to order. Staffs were super friendly.

Bathroom was large enough to take a full sized washbasin but unfortunately the smallest washbasin ever had been fitted. Very creaky floorboards. Not enough hanging space for clothes. Hooks behind the doors would help for such as coats.

Excellent breakfast catering for vegetarian and vegan. Evening meals, reasonably priced, catered for up to 8p.m. Room pleasant with sea view. Good shower. Staff very helpful.

Parking was limited at the back but we were lucky that a staff member moved (without hesitation) for us to park . so not really negative , just highlighting it’s a bit restricted .

Personally I think breakfast should be a little bit later/longer, 7-9am, I think it would be better even if it was extended just a little, say 9.30, I like a bit of a lazy morning when I'm away, I felt a bit rushed. Maybe next time not book breakfast and have it later somewhere I guess is an option

Everything was lovely, we had room 1, king sea view with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower, which I love having both. The room was light and airy with air conditioning too. The staff are lovely, always very helpful and friendly. We visit redcar to see family, our second stay at the Claxton, and many more to come. Food is delicious too, very yummy

It was a hot day and it was uncomfortable in the room at night with only a small window to open.

We were in Room 2 which had obviously just been refurbished. Large room on the ground floor overlooking the sea. Also with a refurbished bathroom, excellent large shower. Nicely cooked breakfast. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if you needed to be in Redcar.

Breakfast would have been better if it were a little longer, would have really liked to have had a lie in with being on holiday but if you wanted to make it for the breakfast downstairs you had to be up early.

breakfast was delicious, room was really clean and the girl cleaning the rooms could not have been more helpful. All staff were lovely though. Our room was deluxe double and even had air con that was definitely an added bonus when we were there as the days were very warm.

Single room that we also booked was very small. Looked bigger in the pictures. The toilet in the King Room with the Sea View was awkward since it was a bit high up.

The King Room with Sea View was nice and big with a new bathroom. Parking was convenient right in front of the hotel.
