It was understaffed, so the receptionist was also the waitress, and I suspect did many other jobs. She seemed overworked and a bit stressed. As a result she charged my card £5260 instead of £52.60. However, she did rectify the situation quickly. Also I had to move rooms because the WiFi controller for heating didn’t work in my room.

we were a group of couples, we all stayed in executive rooms which were lovely and large. Hotel is traditional with original features. The kitchen was closed so we didn't eat. The staff on duty were lovely. Very good value.

The hotel is a little dated, but I saw that from the photos, so I built it to my expectations. I also arrived in time for a Christmas party which did cause some noise but I doubt that this is an everyday type of event

The hotel was exactly what I was looking for. Close to the M4 and easy to get to, it was perfect for a stopover on the way to the Cotswolds.

The staff make this place .They always have a smile and go out of their way to help . So friendly . It needs a little updating but adequate for our needs . We weren’t keen on the buffet breakfast but understand over the Christmas period this was necessary

Bedroom was a bit tatty in places, paintwork around door leading onto balcony was poor, black and peeling. English brekky was quite small, and no baked beans!

Small attentions to details. Toilet pan was dirty at the bottom of the trap ( just needed some bleach ). Lack of shelving in the bathroom. Toilet roll not replenished. Just a few minor quibbles

We had a problem with the central heating in our room, which was not resolved for the first 2 nights of our stay. The extreme heat made sleep impossible, and it was worse the second night although it was supposed to have been repaired. We were moved for the last nights of our stay, thankfully. The 2nd room was much more comfortable.

The hotel is a lovely old building, and the rooms, especially the hall and staircase, are beautiful. The breakfast was good. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but appreciate it is an old building, which is why I chose the hotel.

The breakfast was great, prompt service and good quality ingredients. Dinner was fantastic in the hotel restaurant. Room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but on the whole, a pleasant stay.

No great dislikes to report other than the lack of atmosphere and no obvious area to relax and have a quiet drink.

Chiseldon House is only minutes away from the M4 and offers good facilities in a location with plenty of character. The room and en-suite were roomy and comfortable, if slightly dated but this did not detract from the comfort. The food was very enjoyable and it was nice to have a varied choice of food at breakfast, although the restaurant and lounge area lacked atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The pillows. Too hard and big.

We have stayed before. It's a little old and faded, but everything is comfortable, warm, clean and the food and service are excellent. The location is good. It was in the middle of Storm Ciaran so we went ten pin bowling in Swindon. Great value for money.
